Fans Go Wild as Emma Stone Rocks a Cardigan at the 2026 Actor Awards
Fans are offering mixed opinions on Emma Stone’s sparkling cardigan at the SAG-AFTRA’s 32nd Actor Awards.
Stone, 37, made waves on the red carpet wearing a lilac Louis Vuitton beaded slip dress paired with a matching cardigan at the event held on Sunday, March 1.
While some fans adored the long-sleeve cardigan, others felt it overshadowed the dress. “The dress is cute, but I wish it didn’t come with the jacket and a different hairstyle,” one Instagram user commented on March 2. Another remarked, “The color looks amazing on her, but a cardigan? On the red carpet? I guess comfort wins?” A third critic added, “The little jacket just doesn’t work, I’m sorry.”
Conversely, many supported her choice of outerwear, stating, “I love it, it reminds me of 90s/2000s red carpets.” Another fan wrote, “I absolutely love this look,” while a third chimed in, “It’s so cute, I adore it.”
While posing for photos, Stone showcased drama in her high-fashion ensemble, complete with spaghetti straps, a scoop neck, and a column skirt. She paired her minimalist dress with a shimmering cardigan adorned with delicate beading that shimmered with each movement.
To complete her look, Stone opted for glowy makeup and a stylish hairdo. Her glam included dewy skin, well-defined eyebrows, bronzed cheeks, and a hint of blush. Using the Louis Vuitton Ombres Eyeshadow Palette, she created a stunning eye look with a pearly shade on her eyelids, complemented by mascara and eyeliner. She concluded her makeup with a satin Louis Vuitton lipstick in the shade Beige Machina.
Her vibrant red hair was styled with a slight side part, cascading in loose waves with some sections elegantly pinned up. She added volume using Roz Air thickening spray, as well as the brand’s lift spray.
At this year’s Actors Awards, Stone was recognized with a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her role in Bugonia. The award ultimately went to Jessie Buckley, star of Hamnet.
During the filming of Bugonia, Stone bid farewell to her auburn hair and sported a shaved head. In August 2025, she reflected on that experience in an interview with Vogue.
“There’s no greater feeling,” she said about her new look. “The first shower after shaving your head? It’s an incredible sensation.”
While she ultimately embraced her shaved head, Stone admitted to shedding tears in her trailer beforehand, recalling her mother, Krista Stone, losing her hair during breast cancer treatment.
“She did something brave,” Emma stated. “I was just shaving my head.” She mentioned that her mother felt “jealous” that Emma got to have a shaved head experience. “My mom said, ‘I’m so envious. I want to shave my head again,’” Emma recalled.
After allowing her hair to grow out a bit, Emma revealed a pixie cut at the 2025 Golden Globes in January 2025. She mentioned wanting her hair even shorter for the event. “I was a bit disappointed I didn’t debut it bald. I think that would have been fun,” Emma noted.
