Former Michigan Coach Sherrone Moore Seen with Wife Following His Arrest

Former Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore was seen with his wife, Kelli, for the first time after his shocking termination and subsequent arrest.

In images shared by the Daily Mail on Sunday, December 14, Moore and his wife were photographed walking with their youngest child outside his lawyer’s office.

Moore was seen pushing a stroller while Kelli followed closely behind.

The couple has been together since 2015 and has three daughters.

Before the scandal erupted on Wednesday, December 10, Moore frequently praised his wife of 10 years on social media, celebrating anniversaries and birthdays, and referring to her as his “life partner.” (Moore has since deactivated his social media accounts.)

He was terminated and taken into custody on Wednesday after an investigation uncovered “credible evidence” of an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” announced athletic director Warde Manuel in a statement. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

On that same day, Kelli called 911 expressing concern that Moore might be feeling “suicidal” after losing his job, according to a dispatch recording obtained by TMZ.

Following the announcement of his termination, Moore allegedly “barged into” his accuser’s apartment, threatening suicide in front of her with a butter knife and scissors.

He was taken into custody later that evening and was arraigned two days later, on Friday, December 12. The hearing revealed more details about the allegations.

“[Moore] immediately went to a kitchen drawer, grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors, and began to threaten his own life,” stated Kati Rezmierski, first assistant prosecutor for Washtenaw County, during the arraignment hearing.

Moore reportedly told the woman, “I’m going to kill myself. I’m going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You ruined my life.”

The woman called law enforcement, and Moore fled the scene, only to be arrested shortly thereafter at a local church.

According to the 911 dispatch obtained by TMZ Sports, the woman alleged that Moore had been “stalking her for months.”

The former coach is facing charges of one count of third-degree felony home invasion, one count of misdemeanor stalking related to a domestic relationship, and one count of misdemeanor breaking and entering. He has been granted a $25,000 cash surety bond under the conditions that he does not contact the victim and wears a GPS tether.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for January 22.

If convicted on all charges, Moore could face up to six years and three months in prison, along with fines totaling $3,500.

In light of this scandal — along with several others that have shaken the University of Michigan athletic department in recent years — the university has reportedly initiated a comprehensive investigation into the department. As per ESPN, Michigan has enlisted Jenner & Block, a law firm based in Chicago, to conduct the investigation.
