Garcelle from RHOBH Calls Out Kyle for Her ‘Shady’ Reaction to ‘Lesbian’ Remark
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais is calling out her co-star Kyle Richards.
Kyle, 56, recently referred to Garcelle as an “a–hole” during the RHOBH After Show after Garcelle, 58, seemed to encourage her to explore her sexuality during a pep talk on the Tuesday, January 14, episode of the Bravo reality series. The speculation surrounding Kyle’s friendship with singer Morgan Wade has been a hot topic in the last two seasons.
During a group outing to Chuck E. Cheese with Kyle, Erika Jayne, 53, and Sutton Stracke, also 53, in last week’s episode, Garcelle advised Kyle, “Be whoever you want to be. If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian,” as she offered support during Kyle’s separation from her husband Mauricio Umansky.
In an interview with TMZ on Tuesday, January 21, Garcelle expressed her surprise at Kyle’s intense reaction, stating, “I wasn’t saying it to be malicious,” and emphasized that her comment wasn’t solely about Kyle’s sexuality but rather empowering women to be true to themselves.
“It wasn’t a dig. It was meant to inspire her to pursue whatever makes her happy,” the Black Girl Missing actress noted.
Regarding Kyle’s response, Garcelle said, “It’s hilarious because we laughed about it afterward, so for her to say that was quite shady.”
Meanwhile, Kyle confessed that she was caught off guard by Garcelle’s wording. “What I was really thinking was, ‘You’re being an a–hole right now.’ Don’t pretend like you didn’t know what you were doing,” Kyle told Erika on the RHOBH After Show.
“I thought, ‘If you think I’m going to react or be offended, I’m not,’” Kyle continued. “It’s nothing I haven’t read in tabloids before.”
Garcelle also spoke about her comments during the After Show, discussing with Sutton and Jennifer Tilly, reiterating that her intention was to motivate Kyle to live freely without the burden of others’ judgments. “We’re allowed to be who we are at this age,” she remarked. “We shouldn’t worry so much about what others think of us.”
On the After Show, Kyle claimed that Garcelle did not apologize for her comments, saying, “She just said, ‘I can’t believe I said that,’” to which Kyle replied, “I was just like, ‘Yeah.’”
