General Hospital Unveils Temporary Stand-In for Lucky Spencer
Jonathan Jackson is set to be absent from General Hospital starting February 18, but fans need not worry — Lucky Spencer will soon return to Port Charles.
The 42-year-old actor, who plays Lucky, is expected to miss a “handful” of episodes but should be back on General Hospital later this month, as reported by Soap Opera Digest. The report mentioned that Jackson has already resumed filming, and no specific reason for his temporary absence was provided.
Guy Wilson, known for his role as Will Horton on Days of Our Lives from 2014 to 2015, will take over during Jackson’s absence. This marks Wilson’s second appearance on General Hospital, as he previously portrayed a younger version of Lucky’s deceased father, Luke, during a fantasy sequence in 2006.
In Wilson’s debut episode, Lucky and his ex-wife Elizabeth will meet their son Aiden’s love interest, Tobias, a character Aiden has mentioned since his introduction in 2023. The actor for Tobias has yet to be revealed.
Jackson’s short break comes just six months after his return to the show in August 2024.

Lucky was first introduced to General Hospital viewers in 1993, when the five-time Emmy winner was just 10 years old. He played Lucky until 1999, when the role was passed to Jacob Young and later Greg Vaughan. Jackson returned to the show in 2009, portraying the character for another two years before departing again in 2011.
His return in 2024 ended a nine-year hiatus (he made a guest appearance in 2015), and upon his return, he signed a multi-year contract.
“I’m super excited and can’t wait to explore everything happening in Port Charles,” he stated via Instagram last June after the show announced his return. “I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Genie Francis and so many other familiar faces. Thank you to all the fans for your constant support; it has truly made a difference.”
Apart from acting, Jackson has been active in other pursuits. He leads the rock band Enation, which he founded with fellow actor Richard Lee Jackson in 2003. Additionally, he is an author, having published a poetry collection in 2012 and The Mystery of Art in 2014, which delves into the relationship between art and Christianity.
General Hospital airs on ABC weekdays, with past episodes available for streaming on Hulu.
