Glen Powell Responds to Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globes Sexual Humor
Glen Powell expressed his thoughts on Nikki Glaser’s sexual humor from the 2025 Golden Globes.
During her monologue at the awards ceremony on January 5, Glaser, 40, remarked, “Glen Powell, what an incredible year you’ve had. Oh my God. Glen, you were everywhere! Twisters, Hitman, and my mind during intimate moments with my boyfriend. I really appreciate the assist. I’ll catch you tonight.”
In a reply, Powell, 36, shared a screenshot on his Instagram Story on January 6, showing his laughter at the joke. “@nikkiglaser CRUSHED,” he captioned it, accompanied by laughing face, flexed biceps, and eggplant emojis.
Before the event, Glaser mentioned she felt “ready” to host and joked that the presence of Powell and Timothée Chalamet in the audience might “spark something unexpected in my head.”
She also said, “[Glen] will be in the back wearing sunglasses so he can’t make eye contact with me, or it’ll throw me off. I need to maintain my composure. These celebrities don’t usually engage with me outside of situations like this, so it’s my chance to talk to them and have them look at me. It’s mind-blowing to think that Angelina Jolie is sitting there listening to me for nine minutes.”
At the awards, Powell received a nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for his role as Gary Johnson in Hit Man, but he lost to A Different Man’s Sebastian Stan. Other nominees included Jesse Eisenberg for A Real Pain, Hugh Grant for Heretic, Gabriel LaBelle for Saturday Night, and Jesse Plemons for Kinds of Kindness.
Despite leaving the awards show without a win, Powell was in the company of his family, making the event special. He walked the red carpet alongside his parents and even met the winner of a look-alike contest.
“Oh, look who it is!” the Twisters star exclaimed in a video shared by E! News as he approached his doppelgänger. The pair shared a hug and took photos together. “You absolutely nailed it; that was so much fun,” Powell praised after calling his mom over to meet his look-alike. An eyewitness told Us Weekly that Powell spent a good amount of time with his counterpart, smiling and laughing together.
