Grayson Chrisley Shares a Lighthearted Joke About Todd’s Time in Prison on Father’s Day
It has been two and a half weeks since Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were released from prison after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump on May 27.
This marks Todd’s first Father’s Day in two years that he can celebrate with his six children: Savannah Chrisley, Grayson Chrisley, Chase Chrisley, Lindsie Chrisley, and Kyle Chrisley. Additionally, Todd and Julie have adopted their granddaughter Chloe Chrisley.
On his first Father’s Day as a free man since 2022, Grayson took to TikTok to post a video of himself and Todd lip-syncing to “I Went to College/I Went to Jail” by ERNEST and Jelly Roll.
The video features a transition from Grayson holding a University of Alabama envelope when the lyrics mention “I went to college,” to Todd sporting his prisoner ID around his neck when it says “I went to jail.”
Todd even went so far as to draw a fake face tattoo next to his right eye.
“I went to college, and I went to jail. One was a dorm room, one was a cell. Who came out on top? Hell, it’s hard to tell. I went to college, and I went to jail,” the song starts.
In the comments, singer ERNEST remarked that Grayson’s TikTok was the “best use of this song. Period.”
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, also reacted to the video with, “Not the face tattoo.”
Other fans humorously noted that “Todd is so unserious about this,” while some questioned how Grayson managed to get Todd involved.
Grayson also shared on Instagram some heartfelt words about Todd, writing, “Man where do I start, today is the first time in about 3 years we have actually been able to celebrate today.”
“Happy Father’s Day to the man I look up to and the man who has always been there even in his toughest times. I really don’t know how you do it, how you always know the right thing to say and do, or how you always come out on top. I pray every day that one day I can be at least half the man you are. I love you always dad,” he concluded.
Todd responded to his youngest son’s post, stating, “The love I have for you and our family goes beyond words, to the moon and back and beyond eternity I will love you with all my heart.”
Grayson wasn’t the only Chrisley to publicly wish Todd a Happy Father’s Day; Us reported Savannah shared a video capturing the moment Todd was released, captioned, “Father’s Day looks a little different these days 🥹😭 I sure do love you daddy!! God is good!!”
Chase also expressed his happiness at having his dad back home. “God is so good and I’m so happy to have you home! Your persistence and strength continues to amaze me! Today is your day!!! I love you!!”
