Greta, Chuck Norris’ Granddaughter, Speaks Out on His Passing at 86

Greta Norris, the granddaughter of Chuck Norris, will always cherish her grandpa’s memory.

“Many of you knew Chuck Norris as the man who counted to infinity twice, the one bitten by a cobra that met its end,” Greta shared on Instagram on Friday, March 20, accompanied by nostalgic family photos. “He was the man who wouldn’t do a push-up but would push the earth down. While he was known for many incredible feats, what I treasure most is that I was able to know him as my Papa.”

She went on, “I remember him as the grandfather who attended grandparent days at my school, cheered for me at my soccer games, and beamed with pride. He was the old man in the rocking chair, listening to my stories and watching his movies with me, reminiscing about his life’s accomplishments with a broad smile. He would dress up with me, loved to joke, and had a laughter that could lift anyone from their sadness.”

Earlier that day, it was reported that Chuck passed away on Thursday, March 19, at the age of 86 following a brief hospitalization due to an undisclosed medical emergency. The star of Walker, Texas Ranger is survived by his wife, Gena O’Kelley, as well as his children and grandchildren. (Chuck and O’Kelley, 62, welcomed twins Dakota and Danilee, both 24; he was also the father of sons Mike, 63, and Eric, 60, from his late ex-wife Dianne Holechek, and daughter Dina, 61, from a relationship with a woman named Johanna.)

Greta is the daughter of Mike and his wife, Valerie Norris, who holds countless memories of the late action star.

“If you had the chance to meet him, you’d know he was the most down-to-earth person ever,” Greta wrote in her heartfelt tribute. “In a crowded room, he made it clear he was focused on you and only you. He made everyone he encountered feel like a friend.”

Greta described Chuck as “one of the most special people in [her] life.”

“I am eternally grateful and proud to be his granddaughter,” she expressed on Friday. “Papa, my love for you is immense. Thank you for everything. The world has lost a true icon, and I have lost my grandpa.”

Greta also sent a special message to Chuck directly: “Now, tell grandma I said hi. I will love you forever, Papa ❤️.”

Chuck’s ex-wife, Holechek, passed away in December 2025 at the age of 84.
