Gypsy Rose Blanchard Shows Off Weight Loss Transformation in Before-and-After Photo

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is embracing her body and is eager to share that with the world.

On Sunday, April 13, Gypsy Rose, 33, took to Instagram to showcase her fit physique, posting a before-and-after transformation and captioning it, “My 25lbs weight loss 💗.”

The post included an earlier image of Blanchard, who welcomed her first child in December 2024, in a form-fitting black dress on the red carpet, alongside a more recent selfie where she’s seen in a snug white halter top and blue jeans.

The star of Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, who served time for second-degree murder related to the death of her mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard and was released in December 2023, received an outpouring of encouragement from her followers.

“Good job Gypsy, you look amazing,” commented one fan, while another expressed, “You look absolutely beautiful.” Touched by the responses, Gypsy Rose decided to add more details about her weight loss journey in the comments section.

“I’ve seen many comments asking how I lost the weight, so my journey began after I got out of prison … I started eating healthier instead of prison food, and the weight began to melt away,” the reality star shared. “I began eating twice a day with smaller portions.”

Gypsy Rose, who has a daughter, Aurora, now 3 months old, with her partner Ken Urker, was so pleased with her transformation that she updated her Instagram profile picture to one from the halter-top photo shoot.

Gypsy Rose gave birth to her baby exactly one year after her release from prison, with Urker, 32, announcing the happy news on Instagram on January 1, 2025. “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” Urker captioned a photo of Gypsy Rose, him, and their newborn at the hospital.

At the time, Urker informed TMZ that the birth took place in Gypsy Rose’s home state of Louisiana. “Aurora is healthy, and we are so happy,” he told the outlet.

Just a year prior, Gypsy Rose completed a seven-year sentence in prison. Her boyfriend in 2016, Nicolas Godejohn, conspired with her to murder Dee Dee, ultimately leading to her death by stabbing. Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Dee Dee is widely believed to have had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which the Cleveland Clinic defines as “a mental health condition where an individual pretends that someone in their care is ill when they are not.”

Throughout her childhood, Gypsy Rose was led to believe she suffered from various illnesses, including leukemia and muscular dystrophy, and was told that she required a feeding tube and a wheelchair.

This dramatic story was portrayed in the 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest as well as the 2019 Hulu limited series The Act, where Gypsy Rose was portrayed by actress Joey King.
