Heidi Montag’s Blonde Wig Turns Heads at the 2025 AMAs
Heidi Montag may have left the 2025 American Music Awards sporting what social media dubbed the “worst wig” of the evening, but the Hills alum has a different take on her beauty makeover.
“H Star,” Montag exclusively shared with Us Weekly regarding her temporarily bobbed, blonde hairstyle.
While on the AMA red carpet, Montag, 38, expressed her thoughts on the look: “I just thought I’d go for the moment,” she said of her chin-length wig. “I’ve never done it, so it was fun!”
Montag is enjoying her viral moment just ahead of the release of her new album, Heidiwood, which drops on Friday, May 31.
Spencer Pratt took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 27, sharing a video of Montag and a screenshot of a critical comment: “I love, love, love her, but you should’ve stopped that wig.”
Pratt, 41, captioned his post: “For the wig haters, please pre-order HEIDIWOOD now so that future wigs have more budget ❤️🙏.”
Montag and Pratt first gained fame on the MTV reality series The Hills from 2007 to 2010. During their time on the show, the couple wed in 2008 and share two sons, Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 2.
Montag revealed to Us Weekly that her new album is long overdue.
“I’ve been working on it for a year, and it’s that fun, sexy, escape pop album that I feel like everybody’s needing right now,” Montag shared exclusively with Us. “So each song is a bop.”
The reality star-turned-singer also dazzled in a blue bedazzled ensemble by The Blonds, reminiscent of a look created for Taylor Swift’s 2022 appearance at the AMAs.
Her latest album single, “Blonde,” clearly influenced her choice of designer.
Yet the best accessory isn’t a new wig but something more profound. “Confidence is really sexy, and it goes a lot further than people think,” Montag told Us. “[It] radiates from the inside.”
Undoubtedly, her alter ego, H Star, would concur.
