Hilary Duff Astonished That Son Luca Has Entered His Teen Years
Hilary Duff is amazed to find that her son is already 13 years old.
On Thursday, March 20, Duff took to Instagram to express a heartfelt message to her fans and her son, Luca, on his milestone birthday.
“Wow—time really is a thief,” the mother of four remarked. “I thought a decade of motherhood was wild, and yet here I am, celebrating my son’s 13th birthday.”
Duff, 37, and her ex-husband Mike Comrie, welcomed Luca into the world in 2012 during their six-year marriage.
“I can’t go anywhere without hearing people praise what a great kid Luca is,” Duff continued, celebrating her son on his special day.
“He’s sweet, observant, and has the coolest perspective. He can discuss soccer, detailing players back to the 70s and legendary matches that shaped history,” Duff shared about Luca.
“He’s an incredible artist, a talented writer (hopefully more of that in the future), and I *think* he’s developing a budding interest in history ☺️,” she enthused. “Listening to him talk about historical events is so enlightening—it’s amusing that he knows more about it than I do, considering my unconventional schooling!”
Hilary noted that as a mother, “it’s amazing to witness his evolving interests and growing confidence… his steps toward maturity and understanding.”
She then penned a touching message to her only son.
“I love you more than the moon and all the stars in the sky. Spending time with you is the best. Receiving a text from you makes my day… Talking late at night and snacking in the kitchen is the best. Driving you around is the best (even when you forget everything).”
“Watching you play soccer is amazing,” she added. “Listening to hip hop with you is the best (shout out to Kendrick and lil tecca).”
Duff referred to Luca as “the most amazing” big brother to his three younger sisters, Banks, 6, Mae, 3, and Townes, 10 months, whom she shares with her husband Matthew Koma.
“Your smile is the best, your sense of humor is unmatched. Being completely yourself is the best. Being your mom is the absolute BEST,” she concluded her heartfelt tribute. “Happy 13th birthday, my angel. I’ll always be here cheering you on.”
