Hillary Scott of Lady A Gives a Sneak Peek at Her Kids’ ‘Musical Talents’
Hillary Scott of Lady A expresses amazement at her daughters’ musical talents.
“All three of my daughters possess musical gifts,” Scott, 38, remarked exclusively to Us Weekly while celebrating her new holiday song “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” which features her 11-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye. “It’s fascinating how each of them expresses their abilities differently.”
Although her twins, Betsy and Emory, are just six years old, they are already demonstrating musical potential.
“Emory often gets melodies stuck in her head, asking me, ‘Can we go around the corner and record this melody moment? I want to capture it so I don’t forget,’” Scott shared with Us. “Betsy enjoys dancing… They appreciate very distinct styles of music as well.”
Betsy has a wide-ranging taste in music, from the Descendants soundtrack to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” while Emory loves it when her mom plays Imagine Dragons during car rides to school.
As the eldest, Eisele has had more chances to tour with Scott and Lady A over the years, which prepared her for her upcoming performance of “Hard to Wait for Christmas” at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry for an Opry Country Christmas on December 5.
“She’s currently in her musical theater phase,” Scott mentioned ahead of the special performance. “We listen to the Hamilton soundtrack multiple times a week, and we’re excited to see it live in New York. That’s like an early Christmas present for her this year.”
This holiday season, Scott and Eisele are eager to spread joy with their new holiday song. Titled “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” the track strives to evoke festive cheer and reflects on the many elements that make this season special.
“We hope this song creates moments — even if it’s just for the three and a half minutes the song plays — where families can enjoy, laugh, and play together,” Scott expressed. “If I could make a Christmas wish, it would be for this song to bring smiles and playful times to everyone, especially during a season that can be quite challenging.”
As Scott embraces the positive feedback surrounding the song, she remains thankful for the unwavering support of her husband, Chris Tyrrell.
She also relies on her family’s “values” as they navigate life’s ups and downs throughout the year.
“Every Christmas morning, we start by reading Luke 2 [scripture],” Scott explained. “Despite all the gifts we receive, the greatest gift for our family is the miracle born on Christmas. We always take a moment to ensure that this is where we begin each day, embodying love and light in the world, instilling in our children the importance of being a light to others.”
