How Bethenny Frankel’s Bikini Moment Transformed Her Life
Bethenny Frankel was fully aware that the polka dot bikini she donned for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit fashion show would significantly alter her life.
At 54, Frankel shared her exclusive thoughts with Us Weekly regarding the swimsuits she showcased during the publication’s fashion show at Miami Swim Week in May. Just before stepping onto the runway in a vibrant pink and black spotted Toxic Sadie scoop-neck top paired with G-string bottoms, Frankel mentioned that she had tried on the outfit merely “for fun.”
“I had a specific vision of what I wanted,” she disclosed to Us while promoting her collaboration with Heluva Good!. “I expressed, ‘I don’t want to wear a backyard bathing suit. I sought pieces that came alive once I put them on.” After trying on swimsuits and narrowing her choices, Frankel recalled how she and the SI Swimsuits’ stylists were “playing around” when they handed her what resembled “a piece of string.”
“You could hear laughter outside [the changing room],” she reminisced. “I thought, ‘Yeah, just for fun.’” Upon putting on the bikini, Frankel realized that the design would “change [her] life.”
“I walked out and they were like, ‘Wait.’ And I asked, ‘Is something happening here?’ I thought, ‘I guess I’m showing my ass.’”
Frankel confidently wore the polka dot G-string on the runway, quickly going viral on social media for her toned physique and bold fashion choice.

Though the show has concluded, Frankel is still eager to secure the Toxic Sadie design, alongside the cheeky leopard-print Norma Kamali one-piece she sported.
“I’m currently awaiting my one-piece, and I’d love to keep the polka dot [set] as well,” she remarked to Us, jokingly adding, “Who else is going to wear it? It’s been in my vagina. Perhaps I want to sell them on eBay.”

Central to Frankel’s supermodel ethos was her commitment to clean eating, which featured Heluva Good snacks and their exclusive Host’s Hidden Heluva Good! Dip—a faux potted plant that doubles as a secret dip compartment.
“It’s delicious, truly good food, a superb dip,” Frankel stated to Us, emphasizing that the brand exclusively uses “real milk” and “real cream.” Along with enjoying the dip with chips, Frankel mentioned she’s been “inspired to put [it] on [her] sandwiches for chicken salad,” or “on a baked potato.”
She also praised the practicality of the faux plant, which alleviates her “stress” when hosting events. “[It’s] very easy,” she noted.
