The 34-year-old model shared insights about how becoming a mother has influenced her fashion choices during a conversation with Elle, featured in a profile published on Thursday, June 19.
Ratajkowski, who has a 3-year-old son named Sylvester with her ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, admitted that her style only shifted slightly after his arrival. “It’s a bit of a walk to my son’s school now, so I can’t wear heels,” she explained, highlighting that while living in New York City, her apartment was merely “two blocks” from his preschool, allowing her to confidently show up in glamorous outfits for drop-offs and pick-ups.
“I often left for work directly from there,” she mentioned. “During that time, I was hosting my filmed podcast, so I was always dressed.”
While Ratajkowski acknowledged that her “dressed up” outfits set her apart from other parents, it never fazed her.
“I think that’s actually one of the ways I really enjoy being subversive with motherhood,” she stated. “There’s a lot of pressure on how a mom should look.”
