
How to View the Dodgers vs. Cubs Opening Day Game in Japan
Major League Baseball has returned — but fans in the U.S. will need to rise early to catch the opening games of the 2025 season.
The season will kick off in Tokyo, Japan, with the Chicago Cubs taking on the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:10 a.m. ET.
This year’s spring training commenced with the Dodgers facing the Cubs on February 20 in Arizona, where Chicago triumphed over LA with a score of 12-4. The following day, the Cubs again bested the Dodgers, winning 7-3.

The last time these two teams met on Opening Day was in 1963, as MLB.com reports. That year, the Dodgers defeated the Cubs on Opening Day and went on to win the World Series.
This week’s Tokyo Series will feature both teams showcasing Japanese players like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki for the Dodgers, alongside Chicago’s Shota Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki. Pitchers Yamamoto and Imanaga will be on the mound for their respective teams on Opening Day.

When is the Dodgers-Cubs Opening Day game in Japan for the Tokyo Series?
The Cubs and Dodgers will square off in a two-game series in Tokyo on Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19.
Both games are scheduled for 6:10 a.m. ET (5:10 a.m. CT/3:10 a.m. PT).

The Tuesday and Wednesday matchups will be held at the Tokyo Dome, an enclosed stadium.
