Ilona Maher Shares Heartwarming Video Twinning with Young Fan
Ilona Maher is once more providing the internet with heartwarming content.
During the weekend, the rugby star took to the field hand-in-hand with a young admirer.
Both Maher, 28, and her little fan showcased their favorite lip colors, and the visuals from the touching interaction came as a pleasant surprise to many.
“Absolutely stunning,” remarked one follower. “Ilona keeps helping me heal the inner child issues I didn’t even know I had. Kindness and compassion are so crucial.”
“THE MATCHING MAKEUP I CAN’T,” exclaimed another user. “A picture speaks a thousand words. The way that kid looked up and thought, ‘Yes. There’s someone just like me.’ Representation is truly important.”
Maher expressed that she saw a reflection of her younger self in the young fan.
“She is literally my twin,” Maher noted. “It’s like looking into a mirror of my past.”

In August, Maher told The Cut that her preferred lip hue is usually red because “it complements my coloring so well.”
“Wearing lipstick on the field isn’t something I’ve always done,” Maher admitted, “but I’ve loved lipstick since I was a little girl.”
“I thought about how fun it would be to wear while playing because people generally say rugby is so masculine,” she explained about the contrast, “and that you have to conform to a certain image to play, which I didn’t like.”
“So I wondered, ‘Why can’t I just wear it while playing too?’ and still feel pretty on the field? It’s not like it’ll hinder my ability to tackle hard. And it has become a great part of my brand now,” she concluded.
