Inside Aja Naomi King’s Bag: L’Oreal Cosmetics, Toy Cars, and More
Aja Naomi King has all her essentials and more stashed away in her “black hole” of a purse.
The Grosse Pointe Garden Society star shared exclusively with Us Weekly the items she carries in her black Telfar tote bag, which she adores. “It’s incredible. It holds everything,” she praised the design, proudly crafted by a Black-owned brand. “That’s extremely significant to me,” King told Us. “I tend to carry a lot, so I require a spacious bag that still looks fantastic.”
Within her bag, she has all her L’Oréal Paris makeup, along with toy cars for her son, Kian, whom she welcomed in June 2021 with her husband, Dan King.
The biggest mishap in her bag was a “devastating” incident for King when she accidentally spilled breast milk. “I cried so hard because that took so much effort to produce and it’s everywhere,” she expressed to Us. “And it was emotional because the hormones make the situation feel so much more intense. This is his food.”

Wallet
“My wallet doubles as my phone case at the moment,” King revealed to Us. “It’s the Bandolier [crossbody] style with a small strap since I prefer to be hands-free.”
Inside her wallet, King keeps old hotel key cards and Polaroids, particularly because her son and castmates enjoy taking photos.
Technology
King never leaves home without her AirPods and iPad, which her husband adorably customized with an “I love you” message from a label maker.
Makeup
As a partner with L’Oréal Paris, King enjoys their Plump Ambition Hyaluron Lip Oil. “This one is clear, but there’s another color I adore: the Wine O’clock,” she mentioned to Us. “It gives your lips a warm, tingling sensation,” she continued, sharing her love for the Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick, the Paradise Big Deal Mascara, and the Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation in powder form.
When flying, she brings the L’Oréal Paris Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum with her “because planes just suck all the moisture out of your skin.”
“I love rehydrating with that,” she explained to Us, adding that she takes the Slip Sleep Mask and the Bright Reveal Broad Spectrum sunscreen while traveling.

The How to Get Away With Murder actress always adds her Le Labo perfume and deodorant to her bag before heading out the door.
Mom Essentials
King is always ready for Kian with toy cars. She also packs tissues, hand sanitizer, floss, and the Eo Hand Cream in Orange Blossom Vanilla — which people constantly want to borrow — in her purse for those unexpected moments.
Work Items
While reviewing scripts on her iPad, King uses highlighters and sticky notes to jot down notes. “That helps me feel organized,” she shared.

While she may not always carry a physical book, King is currently reading Elizabeth Gilbert‘s Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear. “I frequently revisit that book,” she exclaimed. She is also reading Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.
Snacks
One of King’s preferred snacks to keep on hand is the Go Energy Bars and Laird Bars, alongside the David Protein Bar, which she particularly enjoys in Blueberry Pie flavor.
Hair Accessories
“I used to always carry hair ties when my hair was longer, but since adopting a bob, I don’t,” King noted to Us about her trendy hairstyle. “Occasionally I’ll have a headband for the sauna to keep my hair off my face. But that’s really it.”
