Inside Jon Bon Jovi’s Family: Wife Dorothea, Their Four Kids, and Beyond

Jon Bon Jovi may be one of the most celebrated rock stars globally, but perhaps his most significant achievement is being a devoted father to his and wife Dorothea Hurley’s four children.

The musician, whose real name is John Bongiovi, tied the knot with his high school sweetheart in 1989. In a 2010 interview with Men’s Health, he revealed that the decision to marry was spontaneous. After releasing a No. 1 album and single, along with three sold-out performances at the Forum in Los Angeles, Bon Jovi proposed marriage in Las Vegas. “‘Come on. What’s better than this, right now, this moment?’” he reminisced asking Hurley during that pivotal moment.

Just four years later, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Stephanie, in May 1993. Their first son, Jesse, arrived two years after that, followed by sons Jake and Romeo in 2002 and 2004, respectively.

Throughout the years, the Bongiovi family has grown as the singer’s children have started their own families.
