Inside the Reunion of Joshua Jackson and Busy Philipps from Dawson’s Creek

Former Dawson’s Creek stars Joshua Jackson and Busy Philipps offered Us a sneak peek at what today’s version of Pacey and Audrey might look like, all grown up (and stylish!).

The duo were beaming as they snapped photos together at the MPTF NextGen Annual Summer Party fundraiser in L.A. on Sunday, June 22. Jackson, 47, sported a light pink suit paired with a white shirt, while Philipps, 45, mirrored his style with her pink hair in loose waves and a stunning white two-piece ensemble complemented by gold heels.

An eyewitness shared with Us Weekly that Jackson and Philipps were “in great spirits” on the red carpet and were seen engaging in conversation at the party. The insider noted that the pair had a “warm interaction” at the event, which Philipps hosted.

The reunion of Jackson and Philipps occurred over two decades after the series finale of Dawson’s Creek. The beloved teen drama focused on the lives of friends Pacey Witter (Jackson), Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), Joey Potter (Katie Holmes), and Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams). Philipps joined the cast in the last two seasons as Joey’s college roommate and Jackson’s love interest, Audrey Liddell.

While the cast hadn’t been in contact for several years post-series, they are now reconnecting. During a March episode of Jana Kramer’s “Whine Down” podcast, Van Der Beek, 48, mentioned that he has “recently reached out to them and it’s been truly wonderful.”

“It’s amazing to catch up with them and see who they have become all these years later, sharing in that experience from our past,” he expressed. “Each time I reconnect with one of them, it’s such a joy.”

He further remarked, “We all went our separate ways, not communicating for years as we lived our own lives. Reconnecting and realizing, ‘Wow, I love who you’ve all become,’ is truly rewarding.”

Philipps mentioned to Us in March that the cast is working on organizing a reunion to support Van Der Beek, who disclosed in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer a year prior.

“We’re actively trying to coordinate something, but a few members have commitments that can’t be changed,” Philipps noted to Us. “It’s like a chess game, trying to sync everyone’s schedules. I am very hopeful we will find a way.”

She added, “Everyone is eager, and I’m thrilled to hear from James — he mentioned on Instagram that he’s feeling good — and we’re all sending him our best wishes and prayers for a positive outcome.”
