Ireland Baldwin and Her Daughter Honor ‘Peepaw’ Alec Baldwin on His Birthday
Ireland Baldwin shared a heartwarming moment showcasing her daughter’s bond with her father, Alec Baldwin, to celebrate his birthday.
“Happy birthday to Peepaw,” Ireland, 29, expressed on Instagram on Thursday, April 3, along with a nostalgic image of Holland, who is now 22 months old, and Alec, 67, whom the little one affectionately calls “Peepaw.”
In her post, Ireland, the eldest among Alec’s children, appeared to convey a message from her daughter’s perspective, saying, “I’m so glad you were born. Because of your born-ness, I was born-ed. I love you!” Alec responded in the comments, “And I love you too.”
The Boss Baby star sported a broad smile in the photo, with Holland perched on his lap and raising her arms joyfully for the picture.
While Ireland honored her father from a distance, Alec’s other seven children celebrated the birthday boy in person on Thursday.
“Happy Birthday, Alec 🩷. We love you!” his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, captioned an Instagram video of their children singing happy birthday to Alec at their kitchen table. Alec joined in for the song before blowing out his candles with his little ones’ help.
Alec welcomed his first child, Ireland, with his then-wife Kim Basinger in 1995. The couple divorced in 2002 after nine years together.
He married Hilaria, 41, in 2012, and together they have welcomed Carmen Gabriela, 11, Rafael Thomas, 9, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 8, Romeo Alejandro David, 6, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 4, María Lucía Victoria, 4, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2.
Alec and Ireland have navigated many challenges over the years, but since she became a mother in May 2023, they seem to have rebuilt their relationship. (Holland was born just six months after Alec and Hilaria’s youngest child, Ilaria. Ireland shares her daughter with her boyfriend, RAC, whose real name is André Allen Anjos.)
“My relationship with my daughter Ireland was severely affected by my divorce from her mother — and enduring a lengthy custody dispute,” Alec reflected on the March 2 episode of his TLC series The Baldwins. “The financial struggle lasted about a year and a half, but everything else was centered around custody. It was sheer madness and incredibly challenging.”
Though Alec regrets how he managed the divorce, he takes comfort in the current state of his relationship with Ireland.
“One of my biggest regrets was how it affected Ireland,” Alec remarked. “But now she’s all grown up at 29. We share a strong relationship, and she adores the kids [that I have with my wife]. She is kind to them and takes on the role of an older sister, although she doesn’t belong to that immediate group.”
