Iris and Pepe from Love Island USA No Longer Follow Each Other on Instagram

Are Love Island USA couple Iris Kendall and Jose “Pepe” Garcia-Gonzalez calling it quits?

Their relationship came under scrutiny on Sunday, August 24, when an X user pointed out that Iris, 25, had unfollowed Pepe on Instagram.

Us Weekly confirmed that evening that Pepe, 27, has also unfollowed Iris. The outlet reached out to both individuals for a statement.

Fans of the season 7 Love Island USA finalists took to social media to express their worries about a possible breakup, with one Instagram user sharing her sadness over the rumors.

This post prompted other fans to voice their thoughts in the comments, with one commenter stating, “I suspected something was off since she had fewer pictures and videos of him on her page. He also stopped being one of the first to comment on her photos.”

Recently, Pepe addressed his relationship with Iris in an interview with TMZ on August 8, stating that they were “both doing great.”

This remark came just two weeks after the couple spoke exclusively to Us about their future, indicating that they both wanted to reconnect with their Love Island USA exes, Thomas John “TJ” Palma and Hannah Fields.

Iris shared with Us, “I do want to have a conversation with TJ. I feel like I definitely owe him an explanation for everything that has transpired. It’s certainly different in the villa than in the outside world—there was a lot going on.”

Regarding Pepe’s relationship with Hannah, 23, he mentioned to Us that he “definitely” wanted to reach out to her. “She said something very thoughtful about how we all entered as strangers, and no matter what, we should leave as friends. I definitely want to call her at some point to see how she’s doing,” he said.

Pepe provided insights into his relationship with Iris on his Instagram on August 16. He shared a video of the two of them cuddling while discussing their feelings, joking that he “liked” Iris based on “the day,” in response to a fan inquiry.

He humorously added that Iris only liked him on “days that end in y,” which seemed to puzzle her. Their playful exchange resulted in a sweet moment as they shared laughter in front of the camera.
