Is ‘Reacher’ Getting a Season 4?
Get ready, Reacher fans! The series was officially renewed for a fourth season in October 2024.
“Windows everywhere beware,” Ritchson shared on Instagram alongside a photo of him smashing a car window with his fist. “Reacher Season 4 is official. What will you give me if I reveal the inside scoop on the book?”
Fans have relished the action-packed episodes, so it was no surprise that the Prime Video hit was confirmed for renewal even before the third season aired in February 2025. The same was true for season 3, which was greenlit prior to the second season’s premiere in December 2023.
“Reacher has become a phenomenon that resonates with our global audience beyond our expectations, and we are excited to bring it back for another season,” stated Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the story. “We look forward to more action and adventure from the incredibly talented team behind the series, including [showrunner] Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”
Details Surrounding the Season 4 Plot Have Been Revealed
Season 4 will adapt Child’s 2009 novel, Gone Tomorrow, the 13th entry in Reacher’s saga. Child not only wrote the books but is also an executive producer on the show.
The book, published in 2009, follows Reacher through New York City as he encounters a woman who resembles a suicide bomber. “When a chance meeting with a distressed stranger on a train goes awry, Jack Reacher is thrust into a complex and lethal game against ruthless foes from the upper echelons of power,” according to Amazon’s synopsis.
Another cast member, Maria Sten, has expressed interest in adapting a different book from the series that is narrated in third person.
“My favorite book is — and I doubt they’ll ever do it — but it’s Without Fail,” Sten, who plays Reacher’s ally Frances Neagley, shared with Men’s Journal. She was referencing the sixth book, which details Reacher’s experience when he is recruited by the Secret Service to locate assassins targeting the Vice President-Elect.
When Did ‘Reacher’ Season 4 Start Filming?
“It’s written and it’s ready to go,” Child told TechRadar in February 2025. “It’s set to start filming in the summer. The next speculation would really be about season 5, so let’s hope that happens.”
Alan Ritchson Will Be Returning for Season 4 Alongside New Cast Members
Of course, Ritchson will reprise his leading role, and fans can expect to see Sydelle Noel (Glow), Kevin Corrigan (Grounded for Life), Kevin Weisman (Alias), Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Kathleen Robertson (Murder in the First), alongside Indonesian singer Agnez Mo.
According to Collider, season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in 2026, though other reports suggest that timeline might be pushed back to early 2027.
