Is “With Love, Meghan” Coming Back for Season 3? Meghan Markle Shares Her Thoughts
Meghan Markle is being somewhat elusive regarding a potential third season of With Love, Meghan.
“When considering that format — reflecting on a year of experience — we can see that producing eight episodes over two seasons is quite a bit of work,” Meghan, 44, stated during her panel at Fortune‘s Most Powerful Women Summit on Tuesday, October 14. “Having spent seven years on Suits, I remember the dedication that goes into production. I also understand the audience’s desire for various types of content.”
Meghan indicated that there is some “testing” occurring behind the scenes. (Us Weekly has reached out to Team Sussex and Netflix for clarification.)
“It’s wonderful to sit and enjoy a show for 30 minutes, but how can I provide a recipe in two minutes and where can I share that to ensure it contributes to As Ever?” she explained. “So, [we’re] exploring all the possibilities of how it could take shape.”
With Love, Meghan debuted in March, with its second season released on Netflix in August. Both seasons showcased a variety of high-profile guests — including Mindy Kaling and Chrissy Teigen — who visited Meghan’s home to cook alongside the Duchess of Sussex.
While Meghan didn’t provide a definitive response regarding the show’s future, she did hint at a “really good” With Love, Meghan holiday special — set to air next month.
“I have many gift wrapping techniques. You all know I used to teach advanced gift wrapping at Paper Source,” Meghan teased. “All those skills you acquire as an aspiring actor weren’t what I envisioned, but here we are.”
Speculation about the future of With Love, Meghan arises after the former actress and her husband Prince Harry renewed their partnership with Netflix, signing a multiyear, first-look deal for all of Archewell Productions’ TV and film initiatives in August, despite rumors that they had distanced themselves from the streaming platform.
“We’re proud to expand our partnership with Netflix and to grow our work together to encompass the As Ever brand,” Meghan mentioned in a statement this summer. “My husband and I are inspired by our partners who collaborate closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create meaningful content across genres that resonates globally and reflects our shared vision.”
A first-look deal generally allows a company to review a project before making a final decision on whether to pursue it. If they choose not to proceed, the creator is free to seek other opportunities.
One project still underway at Archewell — confirmed in August — is the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s book Meet Me at the Lake.
“I’m excited to announce that I’m collaborating with Netflix and Archewell Productions on the adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake,” the author shared on Instagram in 2023. “Writing this book was a significant personal journey, and seeing it recognized in this manner is truly remarkable.”
