Jamie-Lynn Sigler Celebrates ‘Wonderful’ Mom Community During Ashley Tisdale Controversy

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is celebrating her positive experience with mom groups as the drama surrounding Ashley Tisdale’s former “village” continues to attract attention.

“My mom groups mean everything to me,” Sigler, 44, shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “My fellow mom friends have supported me through countless challenges.”

The actress emphasized, “The cornerstone of any mom group is honesty and transparency. I’ve learned to be open and honest about the struggles of motherhood thanks to these incredible moms.”

Mom groups in Hollywood have been in the spotlight recently after Tisdale, 40, penned an essay for The Cut where she discussed the “toxic” dynamics within her social circle.

Ashley Tisdale French sparked controversy within her close-knit group of celebrity moms after she abruptly exited and wrote an essay highlighting her former friends’ “toxic” behavior. “The main issue arose when some of the women formed closer bonds with one another, which left Ashley feeling isolated […]

In contrast, Sigler expressed to Us that her own mom groups have only provided her with “beautiful and lovely experiences.” The Sopranos star shares sons Beau, 12, and Jack, 7, with her husband, Cutter Dykstra, and is open about her life with her boys. She even provided Us with an update on her eldest, Beau, following a significant health scare in 2024.

“He’s my hero. He’s incredible. He radiates light and wants to share it with others,” she said enthusiastically. “I just know he’s destined for greatness. I don’t know what that looks like yet, but I’m proud of him every single day.”

Novartis

Beyond her motherhood journey, Sigler is preparing for her television return as Dr. Laura Kaplan on Grey’s Anatomy, which will air on ABC on Thursday, January 15. Like Sigler, her character also navigates life with multiple sclerosis.

“Saying the words, ‘I have MS,’ on screen was deeply emotional. The first time I did it, tears welled up in my eyes because I feared this diagnosis would hinder my acting career. I thought it would mean my dreams were over,” Sigler explained to Us. “To express this on screen felt so much bigger than myself.”

As she navigates her journey with MS, Sigler has partnered with Novartis to “develop resources” for others facing the same illness, particularly for those newly diagnosed.

Sigler stated that they’ve “created a treatment guide” to help individuals “navigate what’s coming next.” She recalls her own MS diagnosis, saying she felt “overwhelmed” by the changes ahead.

Celebrities such as Christina Applegate, Selma Blair, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Jack Osbourne have opened up about their experiences with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disorder. Applegate publicly shared her diagnosis in August 2021, stating, “Hi friends. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with MS,” through her X account.

Their aim was to “empower individuals with resources that give them back a sense of control. Here are the questions you should ask,” Sigler explained. “You can find your voice.”

Sigler also candidly discussed her choice to use Kesimpta for her relapsing MS. After beginning with three starter doses, she now takes it monthly — a routine she can manage while traveling.

“I’m actually waiting for a call today to see if I got a job. I’ll be in whatever state is next week, and I have my treatment scheduled, so I can take it along with me,” Sigler shared, acknowledging that, like any medication, Kesimpta comes with its own risks.

Sigler encourages the MS community to “consult your doctors” so they can “feel empowered,” especially if this is the right medication for them.

“My primary goal for the MS community is to instill confidence and empowerment, reminding them that MS doesn’t define who they are or make them feel weak or incapable,” Sigler concluded. “You will find a new way forward.”
