Jana Duggar and Sister-in-Law Abbie Duggar Share the Gender of Their Babies
Jana Duggar and her sister-in-law Abbie Duggar celebrated the genders of their unborn children with a delightful joint reveal.
“Share your guesses! Exciting gender reveal video coming soon,” Jana, 35, announced on Instagram on October 27, alongside a photo of both joyful couples in front of a “He or She?” display decorated with pink, blue, and ivory-colored balloons.
In August, Jana and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, revealed they are expecting their first child. Shortly after, Jana’s twin brother, John-David Duggar, shared that his wife is pregnant with their third child. (John-David, 35, and Abbie, 33, already have two daughters, Grace, 5, and Charlie, 3.)
Jana posted the gender reveal on her YouTube channel on Wednesday, November 5, announcing she is expecting a baby boy as blue powder filled the sky. Meanwhile, John-David and Abbie are having another daughter, as their reveal featured pink powder.
Twins Jana and John-David are part of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children. John-David has been married to Abbie since 2018, whereas Jana began dating Wissman, 32, in early 2024 after years of friendship.
“We were like, ‘What are we doing? We still enjoy and appreciate each other,’” Jana reflected in an People interview in August 2024. “I had taken my time, but over the years, his character and his consistent love for me stood out. With such a big, chaotic family, it was clear he genuinely cares.”
Jana and Wissman got engaged in June 2024 and married the next August. After their wedding, Jana moved from her family’s Arkansas home to Wissman’s residence in Nebraska.
“We bought a little house that we’ve been renovating, and it’s been a fun project,” Jana told People before her wedding. “The Wissmanns are amazing cooks and are preparing a full feast. I trust their excellent taste!”
As Jana bonds with her in-laws, she also shares updates on their home renovation journey through social media.
“I’ve been working out in our garage, installing insulation for the garage door,” Jana explained in a YouTube vlog from last month. “I’m hoping it’ll keep the garage insulated during both winter and summer. I’m also painting the back wall black to create a fun feature there and adding storage for our tools.”
Meanwhile, John-David and Abbie are still based in Arkansas as they prepare for their growing family.
“We celebrated seven years of marriage this week,” Abbie posted on Instagram earlier on Wednesday. “I feel so blessed to be married to my best friend who loves, cares, and serves me so selflessly. God has been incredibly good to us!”
