Jana Duggar Expecting First Baby with Stephen Wissmann
Jana Duggar and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, are gearing up to welcome their first child, as Jana is expecting.
“We are absolutely thrilled; January 2026 will bring a little bundle of joy to our family! We’re counting down the days and eagerly anticipating this exciting new chapter in our lives!” read the caption of a joint Instagram post shared on Monday, August 18.
The post showcased several images from a maternity photo shoot, including a beautiful black-and-white photo of the couple sharing a kiss, with Jana’s baby bump visible under her flowing dress. Another picture captured the two resting their hands on her belly.
“So excited for y’all! ❤️,” commented Jana’s sister, Jill Duggar.
Jana and Wissmann were introduced through their families back in 2011. They experienced an on-and-off relationship over the years before reuniting in early 2024.
“It was like, ‘What are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We appreciate each other,’” Jana shared with People in August 2024. “I had been a little hesitant, but over time, his character and the fact that he continued to love me no matter what made me realize how rare that is.”
While the couple never made a public announcement about their courtship, they got engaged quietly in June 2024 and exchanged vows in Arkansas that August. “I think it’s something all girls imagine for themselves,” Jana said, reflecting on her wedding.
“It felt like, ‘Okay, is it ever going to happen?’ But now it’s starting to sink in,” she continued. “Reality is setting in, and I’m realizing, ‘Wow, this is something I’ve always dreamed of.’ It’s fantastic and almost unbelievable—a dream realized.”
Jana, the eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, starred alongside her family on TLC’s *19 Kids and Counting* from 2008 to 2015 and on the spinoff *Counting On* from 2015 to 2020. She had previously felt uncertain about her future and settling down.
“I kept wondering, ‘What is it? Is it me? Do I have a problem?’ I know I’ve prayed for this for years and often thought, ‘Why can’t I just…’” she told People. “Most of my siblings were married in their early 20s, leaving me, the oldest, feeling a bit disheartened at times.”
After their wedding, Jana relocated from Arkansas to Nebraska to start her new life with Wissmann. “He has a little house we bought which we’ve been fixing up, and it’s been enjoyable,” she shared.
In September 2024, Jana provided a glimpse into the newlyweds’ life together. “Happy belated one-month anniversary, @stephenwissmann!!” she wrote alongside photos of the two on Instagram. “Life with you just keeps getting better, and I can’t help but smile when I think of all the sweet moments we’ve shared. 🥂 to forever!”
