Jana Kramer Provides Insight on Her Views Regarding Child Vaccinations

Jana Kramer remains steadfast in her views on vaccinating her children.

During an Instagram Stories Q&A on Thursday, December 4, a fan inquired, “I listened to a podcast episode about giving the baby a vax — what did you end up doing?”

Kramer replied, “The update I will provide is that we switched doctors’ offices where we have the freedom to choose and can ask as many questions as we like, rather than being subjected to the ‘if you don’t, then you’re not allowed to be in this office’ mentality.”

Back in February, Kramer mentioned on her “Whine Down” podcast that during a visit to her previous doctor, she felt “essentially blamed” for her son’s ear infection because she had been “behind” on his vaccinations.

Jinger Duggar openly discussed her views on modern medicine after her daughter Felicity, 7, required an emergency room visit. “OK, so yes, I’m becoming more crunchy,” Jinger, 31, acknowledged during the Wednesday, October 29, episode of the “Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” after her husband Jeremy Vuolo described her as “a little crunchy” […]

“I didn’t like how that felt. I was put off by that comment, and it certainly didn’t encourage me to return, because I thought, ‘You just blamed me for my child having an ear infection.’ I didn’t appreciate that. I don’t even know why I’m crying, but it just made me feel like a bad mom or something,” she shared.

Kramer is the mother of daughter Jolie, 9, and son Jace, 7, with ex-husband Mike Caussin, and son Roman, 2, with her husband Allan Russell.

The One Tree Hill alum expressed feeling “overwhelmed” by the number of vaccinations Roman requires, but she also admitted uncertainty about her trust in vaccinations.

Kramer previously discussed vaccinations during a 2020 episode of her podcast, featuring special guests Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti-vaccine activist, and Dr. Abe Malkin, M.D., who is board-certified in family and addiction medicine.

In another podcast episode from 2020, she also spoke to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has both pro- and anti-vaccine views. They explored the controversial theory linking vaccinations to autism.

“To vaccinate or not to vaccinate. It’s something that has kept me up at night,” Kramer shared via Instagram at that time. “To be completely honest, I’ve conducted the most research since having Jace, because I’ve always heard about the autism connection with boys and the [measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine]. The more I’ve researched, the more I’ve questioned myself, wondering, ‘Am I the reason Jolie had a speech delay because of her vaccines?’”

The “Whiskey” singer added, “As you can see, I don’t have all the answers, and I’ve just prayed that I am making the right decisions, but I really wish there were clear answers because for every article I read, there’s one that debunks it. Quite frankly, it’s exhausting.”

Kramer also pointed out, “Another challenge is the negativity people face depending on their stance.”

“So please, in the comments, don’t criticize me for vaccinating, and don’t look down on others with differing opinions. Please share your insights without being cruel if someone disagrees. Can we just agree to disagree respectfully and have healthy conversations?” she concluded.
