Jared Goff and Christen Harper Celebrate the Arrival of Their First Baby

The quarterback of the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff, and his wife, Christen Harper Goff, have welcomed a new addition to their family.
The couple shared the joyful news of their first child’s arrival, daughter Romy Isabelle, through an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 15. In a collaborative post, Jared, 30, and Christen, 32, showcased a collection of black-and-white images taken in the delivery room.
The NFL player and the model disclosed their pregnancy in February when Christen revealed her baby bump at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, donning a fitted brown floor-length gown while cradling her growing belly on the red carpet.
Later that evening, ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington confirmed on X that the couple was expecting their first child.
“Congratulations to Christen and Jared Goff, who are set to welcome their first baby this offseason! Christen and Jared made an appearance on the red carpet for NFL Honors, where Jared received nominations for MVP and Man of the Year,” Darlington shared at the time. “An exciting phase for two wonderful individuals who will undoubtedly be fantastic parents.”
Harper and Goff also chatted with People about their delight in sharing this news.

“It was quite a challenge to keep it under wraps for so long,” she reflected. “It’s so exciting to have everyone in the loop; I can finally express my joy for this incredible journey we’re about to embark on.”
Harper further shared: “Next year, we’ll have an additional little fan to cheer us on. It will be a fantastic distraction for me on game day, allowing me to focus on something other than the game.”
Since their baby was due during the NFL offseason, Harper expressed her and Goff’s eagerness to cherish this special time together and savor each moment.
Describing the moment she found out about her pregnancy, Harper said it was “truly special.”
“No one can truly prepare you for that experience,” she explained. “When you find out, it’s a mix of shock, excitement, and so many emotions.”
Goff, on his end, shared with People that he has “always dreamed” of becoming a father.
“I know it’ll bring a fresh perspective to my life; it’s going to be wonderful,” he expressed, enthusing that Harper will be the “most amazing mom” to their little one. “I can’t wait to witness her in her new role as a mom.”
Goff and Harper first crossed paths on the Raya dating app in 2019. They announced their engagement in June 2022 and celebrated their wedding in June 2024.
