Jason and Kylie Kelce Reveal the Inspiration Behind Their Four Daughters’ Names
Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce engaged in numerous discussions before finalizing the names for all four of their daughters.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center and Kylie have been married since 2018 and welcomed their first child, Wyatt Elizabeth, in 2019. Their second daughter, Elliotte “Ellie” Ray, followed in 2021, and their third, Bennett “Bennie” Llewellyn, arrived in 2023. The Kelce family was completed with the arrival of Finnley “Finn” Anne in March 2025, who almost left the hospital without a name.
“We had to fill out the birth certificate paperwork. You can technically leave without it, but we really wouldn’t remember to get it done afterwards,” Kylie stated during an episode of Jason’s “New Heights” podcast two days later. “We have to do it when we know.”
At that moment, Kylie humorously noted that Jason also “refused to allow” her to give baby No. 4 the name “just Finn.”
“I’m deada**,” Kylie asserted.
Continue reading to discover how Jason and Kylie chose names for their four daughters — and which ones were left behind:
A ‘Gender-Neutral’ Theme
In choosing a name for Finn, Jason and Kylie aimed to maintain the gender-neutral naming trend they had established with their first three children.
“I think we need to stick with gender-neutral names for our fourth,” Kylie expressed on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast in January 2025. “Given we have Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, if we were to go with a distinctly feminine name at this point, it would feel a bit off to the other three, right? Eventually, they might question, ‘Why does she get a cute feminine name?’”
‘Back to the Archives’ for Baby No. 4
On an April 2025 episode of her podcast, Kylie disclosed that Finn went unnamed for 24 hours after birth.
“It was quite the endeavor. We discussed names with everyone we trusted to keep it a secret,” she revealed. “Ultimately, we didn’t go with any of the options we had been discussing. So there’s that.”
Finnley, spelled with two N’s, carries the middle name Anne, honoring her maternal grandmother, aunt, and cousin. It also serves as a tribute to Annie Elliott, Kylie’s friend and the wife of Eagles kicker Jack Elliott.
“I swear, the only thing I had [before leaving the hospital] was her middle name, which is quite standard,” she explained on the podcast, mentioning other potential first names that included Colette “Cole,” Georgie, and Winifred. The latter name would not have honored the family’s late dog since they would have shortened it to “Freddie.”
Kylie noted, “I didn’t like any name that led us to Georgie,” which eliminated it from consideration.
“She’s truly a Finn,” Kylie beamed, adding that she and Jason had previously considered using Finnley or Elliotte for their second daughter. “Given we had to name four children of the same gender, we had to revisit our archives and borrow a name from an earlier child, which is exactly what we did.”
Rejected Options
Kylie shared insights into other names that she and Jason considered but ultimately rejected for Finn during a January 2025 podcast episode.
“When suggesting a baby name, consider the possible nicknames associated with it,” Kylie advised. “I know plenty of wonderful Garys, but I cannot name my daughter Garrett knowing she would be nicknamed ‘Gary.’”
She also dismissed the idea of naming her fourth child Merritt due to the potential “Merry” nickname.
“I enjoy Christmas, but I don’t need to feel Merry,” she joked. “There’s a good chance this child won’t even have two Ts. People seem very invested in this, but I believe a surprise could be amusing. Plus, I think we’ve exhausted our options… If she doesn’t have two Ts, that’s fine; she’ll still be part of the family.”
Movie Inspiration
While interviewing Kate Hudson on her podcast in March 2025, Kylie revealed that Andie (inspired by Hudson’s character in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) was a name they considered.
“Not gonna lie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is among my favorite movies ever, definitely my top rom-com,” Kylie mentioned. “We even thought about Andie for our fourth daughter. … We discussed how Andie would fit perfectly, and it would be so cool. Interestingly, I met someone at a pool who mentioned they named their daughter Anderson after ‘Andie Anderson’ and call her Andie.”
A Super Tribute
Kylie was expecting Bennett during the 2023 Super Bowl, where Jason’s team played against his brother Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. In recognition of this significant event, the Kelce brothers contemplated naming the baby Super if she were born during the game.
“That was never going to happen, but I told [Jason] we could use SB as her initials,” Kylie recounted on the September 2023 episode of the “New Heights” podcast. “We also considered Scottie Bennett, which is another adorable name.”
Since Bennett made her entrance a week after the Chiefs’ victory, Jason and Kylie decided against following through with the SB idea.
