Jennifer Lopez Captures Cherished Moment with Emme on Hamptons Getaway
Jennifer Lopez is enjoying the summer alongside her mini-me.
Lopez shared a selfie, clicked by vocal coach Stevie Mackey, capturing her and Emme, 17, in the backseat of a car in the Hamptons on Sunday, August 24, via Instagram. In the photo, Emme rests a hand on Lopez’s shoulder as both of them beam for the camera.
Lopez, 56, also posted multiple images of herself in an all-white outfit while posing on a bicycle. “Le Sunshine ☀️,” she captioned her post. “🚲 @BlueJayBikes.”
Lopez shares Emme and twin Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who was her spouse from 2004 until their divorce was finalized in 2014. She later rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck, marrying the actor in 2022. The couple completed their divorce earlier this year.
Months later, Lopez reflected on her year and her strong connection with her children. “I had a really tough year. Unexpected things happened. And so, I read a lot of books. I did a lot of self-reflection,” she shared in an interview with El País published in May. “I practiced meditation. I prayed a lot. I aimed to enhance my relationship with God. I wanted to really solidify the family unit that is me and my two children, my twins.”
Lopez mentioned that she discussed the divorce from Affleck, 53, with her children when she filed in August 2024.
“I told them, ‘I promise this is a difficult time, but you will see that I’ll emerge from it stronger and better.’ I assured them of this, and I did,” she explained. “And they feel it now. That brings me great peace in my life.”
She continued, “I read extensively about childhood, marriage, relationships, love styles, the brain, science… Over the years, I’ve undergone individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. I’m always seeking. I believe it’s all about self-discovery. You need to be prepared for that. Even with the desire, changing certain things can be challenging. But it is possible.”
Lopez expressed that she feels “happier” and that she has made progress compared to the past.
“I take pride in that, and I’m proud that I was able to guide my children through tough times, making them stronger and better for it,” she stated. “Now is a wonderful time to get out there, dance, sing, and enjoy life with everyone.”
