Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Max and Emme’s 18th Birthday Milestone
Jennifer Lopez delivered a heartfelt tribute to her twins, Emme and Max Muñiz, on their 18th birthdays.
Lopez, 56, who co-parents Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, took to Instagram on Sunday, February 22, to commemorate this special occasion with a message and a video montage filled with memories. “You were born in the middle of the night during one of the largest, most beautiful snowstorms NY has seen in years!!” Lopez began. “I remember riding in the car, gazing out at the twinkling white landscape as I cradled you both in my belly in those final moments before your arrival.”
The “Waiting For Tonight” artist went on, “It felt as if God was ensuring you would come into a world brimming with pure magic!! In my heart, I knew this would be the essence of your lives!”
Lopez reflected on how her life transformed the moment Emme and Max were born. “When I held you as babies, it truly felt like I was embracing two angels sent from heaven,” she shared. “My life was forever changed. I can hardly believe you are now adults … 18 years old! You both possess such kind hearts, generosity, and love.”
The tribute video featured images from a professional shoot during the children’s infancy, alongside candid moments captured at home where they laughed, played, and snuggled with their mother, as well as accompanying her backstage and on stage during performances worldwide.
“What a gift the world received 18 years ago when God chose to bring you here with all your talents, spirit, and heart to make the world a better place, because that’s what you do for me and everyone fortunate enough to know you both every day,” Lopez continued. “‘I love you’ can never fully encapsulate the depth of my feelings, affection, and care for you, my coconuts. It’s always been the three of us!”
Lopez concluded her tribute with, “We have journeyed together. We’ve always had each other to lean on during any storm. And I promise you, my beautiful coconuts, no matter how much you grow, this will always remain true. Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine … and Max, you’re perfect just as you are!! I love you both dearly. Happy 18th Birthday, my wonder twins!!!”
Looking ahead to Max and Emme’s college journey in 2026, Lopez shared with Entertainment Tonight in January that she felt “really good” about witnessing her children transition into new stages of life. “I can’t believe we’ve made it this far, just the three of us. It’s been a journey for all of us, as I’ve been a single mom since they were 3 years old,” she mentioned at that time. (Lopez and Anthony, 57, welcomed the twins in 2008 and announced their separation in July 2011.)
Lopez added, “Many people have come in and out of my life, but it’s always been just the three of us. To see how they are flourishing and becoming young adults … they are truly prepared for their future. I remember what that felt like at 18.”
