Jesse Lally from The Valley Teases That Season 2 Will Be Even Better After Breakups
The Valley viewers should prepare for surprises when season 2 launches.
In an exclusive chat with Us Weekly at Kathy Hilton’s DirecTV Christmas Party in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 10, Jesse Lally hinted at what fans can anticipate following a tumultuous first season.
“If season 1 was one of the greatest reality TV series, season 2 is going to surpass it entirely,” he stated.
Jesse, 43, praised each of his castmates for giving their all during filming.
“Seriously, every single person rose to the occasion,” he continued. “I knew during season 1 what the storyline would entail. [Now] I’m completely in the dark and filming every day for season 2.”
The Valley, which launched in March, brought Bravo followers back to Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute alongside their updated circle of friends. The trio first became reality TV icons on Vanderpump Rules before exiting the show in 2020.
This spinoff series has been described as focusing on a group of friends transitioning from their wild youth to prioritize parenthood and grown-up lives in California’s San Fernando Valley. Along with Jax, 44, Brittany, 34, and Kristen, 41, The Valley features Kristen’s fiancé Luke Broderick, along with Danny Booko and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally, as well as Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna.
Some significant moments from the inaugural season included Jesse and Michelle’s marital breakdown and Brittany’s uncertainty regarding her relationship with Jax. Following the shocking cast changes on Vanderpump Rules, The Valley is expected to feature more appearances from Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, and Tom Schwartz.
“We’ve been friends for a long time, so they will definitely be involved. I was also present during some Vanderpump Rules filming,” Jesse told Us. “We will all intersect, but our crew is fantastic. Look at how well season one went. They will always be around. [And] if the new Vanderpump Rules is anything like the previous one, then it will surely be a hit.”
Season 2 is poised to explore the fallout from Jesse and Michelle’s separation. The initial season concluded filming before they publicly announced their divorce. By the time filming resumed in the summer of 2024, Jesse and Michelle had both moved forward while co-parenting their 4-year-old daughter, Isabella.
“Going through a divorce is undoubtedly tough for anyone,” Jesse elaborated. “There are plenty of ups and downs, and we had hoped to navigate it as a cool couple parting ways, but it didn’t unfold that way. So you’ll witness it play out. There will be divisions — it’s not simple.”
Jesse affirmed that both he and Michelle are doing their “best,” stating, “Some days are great. Then another issue arises — that’s the reality of being separated and navigating a divorce. The process is taking longer than we anticipated, which adds complexity. But we are doing what we can.”
Above all, the well-being of their daughter remains paramount.
“Isabella doesn’t need to be surrounded by that negativity. She just wants to see positivity and is managing well,” Jesse reiterated. “She enjoys both her mom’s and my home, and our schedule suits her perfectly. That’s what truly matters.”
