Jessica Biel Shares Heartwarming Note from Her Sons on a Paper Towel
Jessica Biel relates to us moms when it comes to receiving handwritten notes from her children.
The 43-year-old actress posted images of flowers along with a note from her sons, Silas, 10, and Phineas, 4, while she was recovering from a “summer cold.”
“My kids are the best ♥️,” she wrote in her Instagram post on Thursday, August 21. (Biel shares her children with husband Justin Timberlake.)
The letter, amusingly written on a paper towel, read in all caps: “We hope you feel better soon Mommy. We love you!!!” The note, decorated with hearts, was tied to a bouquet of sunflowers.
Biel provided more details about her illness in a TikTok video on August 9, sharing, “I got this really bad head cold, you can hear it in my voice.” She humorously added that she sang the Charlie Chaplin song “Smile” at bedtime but her son remarked, “stop singing, it’s really bad,” and suggested it might make her cold worse.
Biel showcased her note and sunflowers again, mentioning how the thoughtful gift came after a day of battling her sickness.
“Kids are not so bad. They’re not. They’re not horrible! They’re so nice,” she quipped.
Before her sick day, Biel shared another TikTok on August 4, telling a humorous story about her son commenting on how she looked old.
“Yeah, that’s what I got this morning,” she recounted. “I said, ‘Oh, well, it’s OK. We’re all getting older. You’re gonna get older. I’m gonna get older. We’re all getting older.’ He replied, ‘I hope you don’t look like a grandma.’”
This prompted Biel to reflect on the passage of time and how, before long, she could indeed be someone’s grandmother.
“It really got me thinking about how fast life is moving and how grandma days might be just around the corner,” she said. “So, let your kid ride his Tonka truck all up and down the dirt road for as long as he wants to, because one day you’re gonna be a grandma and might not want to be doing all that stuff. Or maybe you will. I hope to be the grandma driving around a Tonka truck.”
Biel has been enjoying some downtime recently after Timberlake, 44, completed his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in July.
“Tour wifey / mommy out ✌🏼,” she shared on Instagram, featuring a collection of moments from the tour on July 30.
On August 15, the Better Sister star posted photos from a vacation, showcasing her boys on their scooters with the caption, “Family summer vibes ♥️.”
Biel married Timberlake in October 2012 after five years of dating. They welcomed Silas in April 2015 and their second son, Phineas, in the summer of 2020.
“It really takes a village to raise any kid, particularly in a busy industry like this where parents often travel for work,” she mentioned in an interview with InStyle in May. She emphasized that she and Timberlake make an effort to always have one parent at home. “Sometimes we do a good job; we try to have only one of us working full time. It doesn’t always happen because opportunities arise when they do, and you have to take advantage of them.”
