Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo Reveal the Inspiration Behind Their Baby Son’s Name
Jinger Duggar and her spouse, Jeremy Vuolo, are sharing their experiences as new parents with their baby boy.
The duo announced in a YouTube video published on Sunday, March 30, that Duggar, 31, welcomed their son, Finnegan Charles. The vlog featured heartwarming moments of the delighted parents with their baby, along with sisters Felicity, 6, and Evangeline, 4, who proudly donned jackets emblazoned with “BIG SIS” on the back.
Before they left the hospital, Vuolo, 37, revealed their son’s name to the girls, who excitedly shared the news with their grandparents. Jinger’s mother, Michelle Duggar, was seen capturing the tender moment on her phone within the hospital room.
Reflecting on how they chose their son’s name, Jinger shared in the vlog, “We both instantly loved that name. Jeremy suggested Finnegan, and as soon as he did, I thought, ‘Oh, I adore that name.’ It carries such strength.”
Jinger disclosed that they will affectionately call the newborn Finn and noted that Charles is “a family name” on the Vuolo side. (As mentioned in a post on the Duggar family blog, both Vuolo’s father and brother are named Charles.)
The couple concluded their video by expressing gratitude for the fans’ support and hinted that they would be sharing more about their delivery and the birth story in the near future.
Since their marriage in 2016, Jinger and Vuolo announced her pregnancy in October 2024. A month prior to Finn’s birth, Jinger teased her followers on Instagram, indicating that they had already chosen a name.
“We always keep it a secret until the baby arrives!” she mentioned in February.
Five years ago, Jinger opened up about her miscarriage before the birth of baby No. 2. She shared her feelings exclusively with Us Weekly, detailing how the experience strengthened her bond with her sister Joy-Anna Duggar, who also faced a pregnancy loss previously.
“During that time, I talked to Joy frequently,” Jinger told Us in June 2020. “We became closer. Although we were already tight, that experience deepened our relationship. It was incredibly tough, but I was thankful to have Joy to confide in. [My sister-in-law] Lauren also offered such heartfelt support.”
As for the future expansion of their family after baby No. 3, Jinger and Jeremy haven’t made a definitive decision. “I felt settled with two, but who knows?” Jinger shared with People last fall. “Three has always seemed like a nice number for us. So, maybe three or four. Right now, I’m leaning towards three.”
