John Stamos and Jaleel White Reenact Iconic Scene from 1991 ‘Full House’ and ‘Family Matters’ Crossover Episode
Although it’s now 2025, John Stamos and Jaleel White transported fans back to the ’90s with a fun video where they reenacted White’s guest appearance on “Full House” from 1991.
Both actors shared clips on their Instagram accounts, showcasing a memorable scene where Stamos’ Uncle Jesse teaches White’s iconic Steve Urkel from “Family Matters” how to walk confidently and casually.
“TGIF… Urkel’s still cooler than Uncle Jesse,” Stamos wrote in his post.
In the video, Stamos and White reenact that iconic moment while original clips from the scene play alongside, allowing fans to compare then and now. White comically attempts to walk with the coolness that Urkel certainly did not possess, leading to a shared laugh and a warm hug between the two.
Fans were thrilled by this nostalgic moment.
“Omg! This generation has no idea how much this means to us. 😂😂😂😂 We were so happy back in those days. Everything was better in the ’90s and early 2000s,” commented one user.
“The connection we didn’t know we all needed today,” another enthusiast exclaimed.
“Millennials, we won 😍,” someone else added.
“This is amazing!” Melissa Coulier, wife of “Full House” star Dave Coulier, praised.
“I love this!! My childhood!! 🙌🏽🔥” another fan wrote in excitement.
“🔥” chimed in Darius McCrary from “Family Matters.”
White guest starred in a Season 4 episode of “Full House,” portraying the legendary nerdy Urkel, who visits the Tanner family as a cousin of one of D.J.’s friends. He ultimately helps Stephanie confront her feelings about needing glasses.
“Full House” and “Family Matters” were key components of ABC’s beloved “TGIF” lineup of teen-oriented sitcoms that filled Friday evenings in the 1990s, which also featured shows like “Step by Step,” “Boy Meets World,” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”
