JoJo Fletcher from The Bachelorette Provides Update Following Emergency C-Section
Former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher is reveling in the joy of motherhood with her newborn daughter, Romy Blair, while she recovers from an emergency C-section.
“She’s just perfect. I can’t help but be completely obsessed,” Fletcher, 35, shared in a selfie posted to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, December 28. “Mom, Dad, and baby girl are all doing well! We’re in the newborn phase, so it’s been a bit hectic, but I wanted to express my gratitude for all the love and well wishes.”
Fletcher welcomed her and husband Jordan Rodgers‘ first child, daughter Romy, on Tuesday, December 23, following complications that necessitated emergency surgery.
“I’m healing nicely,” the Bachelor Nation star mentioned on Sunday, praising Rodgers, 37, as “dad goals.”
She continued, “It’s astonishing how quickly he has adapted and has been incredibly supportive while caring for both me and Romy. You can be utterly sleep-deprived, but the moment you look at her, all that fades away, and all you can feel is overwhelming love for this little angel.”
Rodgers and Fletcher made Romy’s arrival public in a social media post on Christmas.
“Merry Christmas to us ❤️. It’s been a whirlwind of a few days, but in the most magical way,” they wrote alongside hospital photos on Thursday, December 25. “We went in for a routine sonogram this past Tuesday and discovered we needed to have an emergency C-section that day. At 5:37 pm on December 23, we welcomed our girl.”
They finished their message with, “Romy Blair Rodgers, you mean the world to us. We can’t wait to share more, but for now, we’re just enjoying our new family of three.”
The couple, who got married in 2022, announced in August that they were expecting after facing challenges with conception.
“Fertility is a deeply sensitive issue for those experiencing it. Jordan and I have been on our own journey, and it has certainly been a journey,” Fletcher shared with Us Weekly in July. “I try to remain positive and believe that when the time is right, it will happen.”
She expressed, “When that moment arrives and we welcome our little Baby Rodgers, it will be an incredibly exciting time.”
Fletcher and the sportscaster first met during her season of The Bachelorette, which aired in 2016.
“It’s quite astonishing that next year marks a decade since Jordan and I began our journey together,” she reflected to Us this summer. “When I think about the show, it feels like just a couple of years ago when I was 24. Yet, I’ll be turning 35 in November. What a journey — to think we met on a reality show and have been together ever since is simply unbelievable.”
Their connection has deepened since Rodgers received Fletcher’s final rose.
“You are the best man I know. The way you have loved, protected, and supported me through all of life’s challenges is something I will always be thankful for,” Fletcher praised her husband in a birthday tribute on Instagram in August. “You’ve been my biggest supporter since we met, always encouraging me to pursue any dream I’ve had and standing by my side to assist in any way possible.”
