Jon Gosselin Shares When He Last Communicated with Ex-Wife Kate Gosselin

Jon Gosselin has shared his current relationship status with ex-wife Kate Gosselin over ten years after their turbulent breakup.
In an interview with E! News released on Friday, January 31, Jon, 47, revealed that he and Kate are no longer in contact.
“We don’t communicate,” Jon shared. “The last time I actually heard her voice in person was around 2018.”
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star explained that their final in-person conversation took place in court during a custody hearing regarding their son Collin, who is now 20. (Jon and Kate are parents to sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, all 20, as well as twins Mady and Cara, both 23.)

During that court session, Collin accused Kate of verbal and emotional mistreatment during his upbringing. (Jon was granted custody while Kate has refuted all allegations of abuse made by Collin.)
Despite their lack of communication, Jon remarked that the atmosphere between them has improved compared to the past.
“It’s been calm,” Jon noted. “[It’s been] very calm, knock on wood, for two consecutive years now.”
Jon and Kate were married for 20 years and finalized their divorce in 2009, even after renewing their vows in Hawaii in August 2008.
Their disagreements regarding parenting their eight children were often evident on their reality show.

Following allegations of Jon’s infidelity, Us Weekly reported in May 2009 that Kate filed for divorce just a month later.
“Parents of multiples have a divorce rate that is three times higher,” Kate stated in a May 2009 episode of their reality show. “I hoped we would be the exception. I can’t claim that anymore.”
Jon, however, has since moved forward, proposing to his girlfriend of three years, Stephanie Lebo, in November 2024.
Entertainment Tonight revealed that Lebo’s parents were present for the proposal, with her father expressing emotion at the moment Gosselin asked his daughter to marry him.
“You have no idea how long I waited for this day for you, and there was a time I worried it might never come,” Lebo’s father whispered to her, ET noted. “I’m so truly happy for you and Jon.”
He also shared, “My best advice is to never stop falling in love. Love should always come first.”
Despite some difficulties with his children, Jon told Entertainment Tonight in December that he intends to invite all of them to the wedding.
“I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t receive an invitation,” he clarified, adding that it would likely be communicated through his daughter Hannah. “If they choose to attend, that’s entirely up to them since they are now adults and able to make their own choices.”
