Jude Law Hints at a Possible ‘The Holiday’ Sequel with Nancy Meyers
Just in time for the holiday season, Jude Law is revisiting his role from ‘The Holiday’.
The beloved film from 2006 was penned and helmed by Nancy Myers and features Law, 51, along with Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, and Kate Winslet.
Myers, 75, caught up with Law over lunch following his significant career achievement — earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California. She shared a video on social media where they playfully hinted at a return to the festive classic.
“Congrats Jude! ⭐️,” Myers captioned a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, December 12. “I was so excited to have lunch with Jude today, and I had one question for him….”
In the clip from their celebratory meal, Myers is seen slowly panning over a white tablecloth to reveal Law seated across from her. They enjoyed a spread that included a dessert parfait and a glass of champagne, with Law sporting a beige suit.
“Look who I’m having lunch with today,” she commented in the video. “Congratulations on your well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That’s incredible.”
Law celebrated this prestigious honor with two of his children, Rafferty, 28, and Iris, 24, alongside his wife Phillipa Coan during the Thursday ceremony.
“Thanks, Nancy,” Law replied. “It’s so lovely to see you.” Myers then reflected on how long it had been since their last meeting.
“It’s so wonderful to see you,” she remarked. “I don’t think I’ve seen you since we finished The Holiday.”
Myers then brought up the subject of a potential sequel, saying, “Speaking of which, I’ve seen you in various interviews, and they keep asking if there’s going to be a sequel. What do you think?”
Law sighed before echoing her question, saying, “Is there going to be a sequel?” He then lifted a white cloth napkin and placed it atop his head, donning glasses over the napkin.
The British actor was alluding to a memorable scene in the film where his character entertains his children by pretending to be “Mr. Napkin Head.”
Myers continued to tease the possibility of a sequel, responding to his playful antics, “Is that a yes, Jude?”
This sparked excitement among fans of The Holiday at the prospect of a second film.
“I can hardly take this!” one commenter expressed, while another chimed in, “Nancy, this isn’t a joke!!! You better not be playing with our emotions!”
