Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson Shoot Happy Hours Scene with Baby Stroller
Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson recently sparked our curiosity with their latest images from the set of Happy Hours, prompting us to imagine how their Dawson’s Creek characters, Joey and Pacey, would handle parenthood.
On Friday, July 25, the 46-year-old Holmes and 47-year-old Jackson were seen pushing a baby stroller together while filming scenes for their upcoming film trilogy in New York City.
Jackson donned a chambray button-down shirt, navy pants, and sneakers as he navigated the blue stroller through a local park.
Holmes sported a casual look as well, featuring a white floral top, navy pants, and a denim overshirt tied around her waist, paired with ballet flats. She carried a black handbag while walking alongside Jackson.
The co-stars, who played romantic interests on Dawson’s Creek in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, appeared completely relaxed as they filmed under the rain.
In one image, Holmes rested her head softly on Jackson’s shoulder while he continued to push the stroller.
The duo was also captured laughing in two separate photos, a delightful reminder of their enduring chemistry and friendship.
Their baby stroll scene came just days after they sent fans into a frenzy with images of their on-screen reunion.
On Monday, July 21, Deadline reported that Holmes is writing, directing, and starring in a film trilogy titled Happy Hours, with Jackson confirmed to be part of the cast.
The franchise is described as a narrative about Holmes and Jackson’s characters “navigating their relationship amidst career challenges, family responsibilities, and the quest for love amid life’s inevitable hurdles,” according to the outlet.
Happy Hours is a dramedy that promises to explore the “emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults.”
The film series will also feature Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., and Nathan Darrow, along with Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin portraying younger versions of Holmes and Jackson.
The reunion of Holmes and Jackson triggered instant nostalgia among Dawson’s Creek fans, many of whom cheered for their characters, Joey Potter and Pacey Witter, to be together in the end. (Spoiler alert: they were!)
The actors starred together on The WB series for six seasons, from 1998 to 2003. While Dawson’s Creek focused on teenager Dawson Leery (James van der Beek) and his coming-of-age tale, it also revolved around his neighbor and love interest Joey (Holmes) and his best friend Pacey (Jackson), who also fell for her.
Besides ending up as a couple when the series wrapped, Holmes and Jackson briefly dated off-screen during the show’s first season.
“I’m just going to say that I met somebody last year,” Holmes told Rolling Stone in 1998, referencing their rumored relationship. “I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always.”
Holmes indicated at the time that although the romance had ended, she remained “best friends” with her former partner. While she didn’t mention Jackson by name, she remarked, “He’s been in the business so long, and he’s really helped me.”
Fast forward over a decade, and Jackson revealed he is still “very close” with Holmes, along with Busy Philipps, who played Audrey Liddell, and Michelle Williams, who portrayed Jen Lindley.
During an April appearance on the “Dinner’s on Me With Jesse Tyler Ferguson” podcast, he shared that he tries to catch up with the three actresses as frequently as possible.
