Kelly Osbourne’s Son Honors Ozzy by Chomping on a Toy Bat
Kelly Osbourne’s son, Sidney, is embracing the legacy of his late grandfather Ozzy Osbourne this Halloween season.
The 2-year-old paid tribute to the Prince of Darkness on Friday, October 31, by mimicking Ozzy’s famous stunt of biting off a bat’s head during a concert in the 1980s. Sidney, however, opted for a toy bat to join in the festive fun.
Kelly, 41, shared a video of Sidney dressed in a skeleton top, matching leggings, and red cowboy boots while clutching his gray bat toy. “What are you doing?” asked Kelly’s fiancé, Sid Wilson, in the clip she posted on TikTok, just before Sidney pretended to bite the head off the plushie.
After dropping the head, he beamed with a smile reminiscent of Ozzy’s cheeky grin often seen during his performances, accompanied by a little giggle as he enjoyed Halloween.
“Learned from the greatest, Papa!” Kelly captioned the video, set to Ozzy’s “Crazy Train.”
Sidney’s playful video nods to Ozzy’s 1982 infamous moment when he bit the head off a live bat on stage. Despite the controversy surrounding the incident, Ozzy welcomed the attention before passing in July at age 76.
“I know when I eventually leave this place, it’ll be, ‘Ah, the man who bit the head off the bat — he joined the bat today,’” Ozzy told People in 2022. “I’ve accomplished a lot, but all people ask is, ‘Ozzy, what do bats taste like? Was it dead?’ But trust me, when they gave me that rabies shot, I wasn’t smiling.”
The bat incident exemplifies the fascination Ozzy stirred throughout his career as both a solo artist and Black Sabbath’s lead singer. At home, he was simply a dad to his six children.
The “Iron Man” singer had Elliot, Louis, and Jessica with his ex-wife Thelma Riley, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1982.

Ozzy was married to Sharon Osbourne in 1982, and they remained together until his passing. They shared daughters Aimee and Kelly, along with son Jack.
“I love my dad more than anything in the world. I’m incredibly proud of him and how he handles all the challenges he faces, overcoming them each time,” Kelly shared with Us Weekly in October 2024, reflecting on Ozzy’s battle with Parkinson’s disease, which began in 2019. “There’s no one like him. He truly is an iron man.”
Similar to her love for her late father, Kelly’s pride in her son, Sidney, has been evident since he was born.
“I can’t recall life before having my baby, as everything has changed. I didn’t realize how intense the feeling of love would be when becoming a parent. It’s the most addictive emotion I’ve ever experienced,” Kelly told Us in October 2024. “In that moment, you understand, ‘You’ve given me a purpose like nothing else has before.’ I didn’t feel like I had a purpose beforehand; I just transitioned from one thing to the next.”
