Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Spend Less Time Together While Hosting Live

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have celebrated 29 years of marriage and have cohosted Live With Kelly and Mark for the last two years. Since Consuelos, 54, joined his wife on the show in 2023, they find themselves spending even less time together.

“We work together in the morning, and then we usually go our separate ways and catch up at dinner,” Consuelos shared exclusively with Us Weekly at the Running With the Wolves premiere in New York City on Wednesday, July 23.

The couple first crossed paths as co-stars on All My Children in 1995, marrying the following year. They are the proud parents of sons Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 22, and daughter Lola, 24.

During her tenure on All My Children, Ripa, 54, was appointed cohost of Live alongside Regis Philbin in February 2001, taking over from Kathie Lee Gifford.

Philbin, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 88, left the show in 2011, while Ripa continued to cohost with Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest before Consuelos joined her.

Reflecting on their 30 years together, Ripa and Consuelos highlight the little things that have contributed to their enduring relationship.

“I really appreciate my wife. A lot,” Consuelos remarked. “The love is always present, but I genuinely appreciate her.”

Ripa echoed his sentiments, noting their “strong foundation of trust.”

“We share a rich history, which is really special,” she explained. “Our kids often watch various documentaries and ask, ‘Were you and Dad alive for that?’ And I respond, ‘We were married when that happened!’ It’s wonderful to have shared decades of memories with someone.”

“It’s about two individuals with common interests who also nurture their own passions,” she further elaborated. “Two people who maintain their individuality while growing together and lifting each other up.”

Ripa has previously discussed the importance of boundaries. In a February episode of Live, she and Consuelos had a discussion about whether couples should share their locations with one another.

“No, I don’t need to know where you are at all times,” she told her husband. “Knowing you’re here is sufficient for me.”

“I find it a bit odd if someone asks for your location—especially if you’re dating,” Consuelos added. “It’s something that should be offered, like, ‘Hey, I’m going to share my location with you.’”
