Kelsey Anderson of Bachelor Nation Shares Her Reasons for Getting Veneers
Kelsey Anderson is opening about her decision to get veneers.
“Breaking news, Kelsey Anderson has fake teeth,” Anderson, 26, humorously stated in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, February 23. “But seriously, I did get nine veneers and one crown. I understand that I’m not required to disclose this, but my moral compass tells me it’s the right thing to do. I don’t want to gloss over the fact that I have a new smile or let people assume it’s just whitening strips or something else that has improved my smile.”
Anderson recounted how she broke three of her teeth during her college years about seven years ago and was unable to use whitening products, as that would reveal the fake teeth. She mentioned that her two temporary veneers were chipping and that she had always intended to have them replaced.
“Recently I went to the dentist for a regular checkup, and my dentist noticed something unusual and suggested a head CT. It turned out I had an infection in my face from when I broke this tooth years ago. They had to redo a root canal, which apparently wasn’t done correctly, leading to a persistent infection that caused bone decay,” she explained.
Anderson revealed that the dentist was astonished she wasn’t experiencing “severe pain” from the infection and took that as a sign to get new veneers so that all her teeth would “match.”
“In about six months, they’ll know if they removed everything and it’s all clean,” Anderson elaborated. “If it remains infected, they might need to perform surgery and do bone grafting. But I hope it heals well and my bone regenerates.”
Anderson clarified that her veneers were “not related” to her discontent with her smile, stating she had “always loved” her smile.
“I just wanted my smile to be uniform,” Anderson expressed. “I’ve always felt insecure about my teeth as they are quite brittle and prone to breaking. The dentist did a fantastic job of preserving my natural smile while enhancing it, and I’m thrilled with the result.”
Anderson humorously noted that anyone who doesn’t like her new smile can “save their energy,” as “it’s not going to change.” She added, “I’m happy and healthy, and that’s what truly matters.”
Before concluding the video, Anderson showcased a before-and-after photo of her smile. “I’m excited and I love my smile,” she stated.
Anderson, who is engaged to season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei, had previously addressed trolls regarding her teeth during her time on the ABC reality series.
In a TikTok shared in February 2024, Anderson humorously acted as if she was “blocking” users who criticized her smile, with “Kelsey’s teeth are yellow” written over the video, captioning her post, “That’s all y’all got? #dentist #pls #help #me.”
