Kim Kardashian Considering Full Custody of Her Children with Kanye West

In light of Kanye West’s controversial behavior on social media and in public, Kim Kardashian may pursue legal avenues to gain full custody of their children.

Following a month marked by West’s recent social media activity, multiple sources informed Us Weekly that Kardashian, 44, is contemplating filing for “full custody” of their four children: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.

“She finds herself in a challenging situation, having to coparent with him,” an insider disclosed. “At this moment, he is quite distracted, and while she doesn’t want to speak negatively about him, her children’s safety is the primary concern driving this thought.”

Another source indicated to Us that Kardashian “is concerned” that West’s actions online could “pose issues” for their children.

Kardashian and West have openly discussed their coparenting journey since their split in February 2021, though it hasn’t always been easy. The couple, who wed in 2014, share four children: North (born in June 2013), Saint (born in December 2015), Chicago (born in January 2018), and Psalm (born […]

West, 47, previously caused concern with his antisemitic comments and has continued to draw attention by collaborating with the disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, on a song that features vocals from their eldest child, North. On Saturday, March 15, West released “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” and shared an alleged text conversation with Kardashian, showcasing her attempts to prevent the song’s release due to issues surrounding North’s trademarked name.

According to shared screenshots from TMZ, Kardashian allegedly texted: “I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop. I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her.”

West reportedly responded: “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

The couple married in 2014 and were together for seven years before Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021. She has since expressed the struggles of coparenting after their divorce was finalized in November 2022.

“I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional, but it’s just been a day for me. It is hard. Coparenting is really f—ing hard,” Kardashian revealed during the “Angie Martinez IRL” podcast in December 2022. “I had the best dad and the best experiences, and that is all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that is what I want for them.”

Kardashian discussed the difficulties of shielding her children from their father’s contentious and antisemitic social media posts, stating, “I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world. I am holding on by a thread. I know that I am so close to that not happening, but while it is still that way, I will protect that to the end of the Earth as long as I can. My kids don’t know anything.”

Kardashian has acknowledged the things she has said regarding her ex-husband, Kanye West, following their divorce in 2022. The couple, married in 2014, shares four kids: daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 7, along with sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5. Coparenting means that Kardashian and West still interact regularly […]

She further explained: “It is [a full-time job]. It is worth it because I think that of course I want to disassociate from specific thoughts and things being said because that is not me. But at the same time in my home I could be going through something, but if we are riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music — no matter what we are going through — I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids. [I can] act like nothing is wrong and as soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry.”

West, who has moved on with his new wife Bianca Censori, has also shared his insights regarding raising their children together with Kardashian.

“Even to this day, I’ll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that’s going to go to the kids,” he mentioned on the “Alo Mind Full” podcast in September 2022. “She’s still got them 80 percent of the time, [to] raise those children. So what people saw when I was going back and forth is that I still have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw into the curriculum.”
