Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Attire for Her First Ceremony with Damon Thomas
Kim Kardashian’s changing bridal style and engagement rings have taken center stage in the newest season of The Kardashians.
In a recent episode that aired on Thursday, March 20, Kardashian, now 44, looked back at the outfits she donned for her past three weddings, including her unique ensemble from her Las Vegas elopement with music producer Damon Thomas in 2000.
Her first ceremony marked a bold break from traditional norms, taking place in secrecy with Thomas. “For my first wedding, I wore leather capris with a leather halter top that had no back along with oversized Prada wedges. It was super cute,” she reminisced, reflecting the youthful fashion trends of the early 2000s.
At 19, Kardashian was married to 29-year-old Thomas, but their union lasted only three years. The Skims mogul previously shared that her Las Vegas wedding was part of her “wild phase,” noting that it was also her first experience with ecstasy.
Now that her “wild phase” is behind her, Kardashian’s daring fashion choice from that first wedding contrasts sharply with her later, more traditional bridal looks.
When she married professional basketball player Kris Humphries in a private estate in 2011, a union that lasted only 72 days, she donned a stunning Vera Wang ball gown complete with a basque waist, sweetheart neckline, and Chantilly lace appliqués.
“I wanted a princess theme because I thought, when will I get this chance again?” she recalled. In contrast, her custom lace long-sleeve dress by then-Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci for her 2014 wedding to Kanye West received far less attention.
This season, her engagement rings have also garnered significant attention.
In the episode that aired on Thursday, March 13, Kardashian shared her memories of each ring from her three weddings during a trip to Mumbai, India, with Khloé Kardashian for the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
“I wonder what shape my next ring will be?” Kim pondered aloud to Khloé. “For my last and final hurrah,” hinting at the possibility of marrying for a fourth time.
The first ring she received from Thomas, who is now 49, was a stunning 12-carat cushion-cut diamond that she still keeps. Meanwhile, she intends to pass on the Lorraine Schwartz 15-carat cushion-cut diamond ring from her ex-husband West, now 47, to her daughter, North, who is now 11. Kardashian and West also have children Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.
“I plan to give that one to North because she was with me when I got engaged,” Kardashian excitedly shared on the show. “She held it afterwards while I took a photo. She was just a few months old.”

Concerning Humphries, now 40, Kardashian revealed that he paid “a fifth [of the price]” for the custom Lorraine Schwartz 18-carat ring, which was valued at $400,000.
“I didn’t keep it,” she confessed. “I was pregnant with North while still married to him, and he insisted I return the ring as part of the divorce settlement.” This unexpected detail highlighted the intricate financial discussions surrounding her high-profile marriages.
Furthermore, Kardashian’s candid reflections on her past gowns and jewelry offer a fresh perspective on her personal journey and evolving bridal style, igniting speculation about her future romantic endeavors (and upcoming wedding rings).
