Kris Jenner Once Accidentally Purchased Fake Chanel Watches for Her Family
Kourtney Kardashian continues to tease Kris Jenner about the year she bought the family imitation Chanel watches for Christmas.
During a Wednesday, March 19, episode of The Kardashians, Jenner, 69, was decorating her home for her mother, M.J. Campbell’s 90th birthday, and FaceTimed Kardashian, 45, who was unable to attend the celebration as she was on tour with her husband Travis Barker in New York.
Jenner revealed that each star tote gift bag would include a Beanie Baby stuffed animal and silk Chanel scarves adorned with floral patterns and the iconic double “CC” logo.
“Do you remember when you gifted us those fake Chanel watches for Christmas?” Kardashian said, laughing as she recalled the moment.
Jenner also chuckled in response. “Listen, I’m just —,” she started, but Kardashian interrupted her. “You claimed they were stolen from a truck.”
“I really think they were!” Jenner defended herself, as Kardashian joked about Kathie Lee Gifford convincing her mom that the watches were “hot off the truck.”
In a confessional, Kardashian elaborated on the story. “In the first year of [Keeping Up With the Kardashians], my mom gifted us these ‘Chanel’ watches for Christmas. They gradually started to chip, and the diamonds fell out. We were like, ‘Mom, if these are real, that’s wild.’” (KUWTK debuted in 2007.)
Kardashian continued: “She was like, ‘I bought them from a truck! Hot off a truck.’”
Jenner couldn’t help but laugh about the memory in a confessional, admitting she didn’t “remember” much of the incident.
“I’m not sure if they were real, fake, or hot,” she stated. “I just don’t remember.” A producer playfully chimed in, saying Jenner was “pleading the Fifth.”
“I am,” Jenner responded with a grin.
The scene then switched back to Kardashian, who joked about her mother getting swindled. “She was like, ‘I received a check for $1,000 for filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I’m going to spend five times that on a fabulous watch.’”
