Kristin Chenoweth Celebrates Aging: ‘No Way I’d Go Back’
Kristin Chenoweth is pleased with her current life stage.
At 56, Chenoweth discussed the topic of aging while inspiring women and serving as Laura Geller Beauty’s Chief Mature Officer on Wednesday, April 9.
“I’ve lived, I have learned,” she shared with People. “I wouldn’t want to go back.”
The actress, known for her performances in the original Broadway version of Wicked as well as its recent film adaptation, stated, “You couldn’t pay me to return to the past. I am content where I stand and take pride in it.”
Chenoweth also humorously noted that her temporary role as CMO has made her feel empowered and “mature,” which she believes is preferable to being “pushed aside.”
As she stepped into the Laura Geller office, Chenoweth amusingly tested products and led marketing discussions — all while celebrating the aging process.
“Hi ladies,” she announced, propping her Christian Louboutin shoe on a desk, before roaming around the office.
“You know, I’m the Chief Mature Officer at Laura Geller, in case you haven’t heard,” she said to some staff members, eliciting giggles. “Yes, it’s a real position. It’s actually happening.”
The scene then shifted to the actress sampling powder foundations, joking that they typically made her look “approximately 187 years old.” After trying the product, she was pleasantly surprised by the baked makeup and even broke into a song of joy.
During a meeting, Chenoweth encouraged her colleagues to use the term “mature women” instead of their usual, “old fart.”
Chenoweth shared the video clip on Instagram along with an inspiring message for women, stating, “Here’s your first official CMO memo: You’re never too old for anything. Now go out there and shine, that’s an order! 💄😉.”
