Kylie Kelce Grieves the Loss of Her Dog Baloo, One Year After the Death of Winnie
Jason and Kylie Kelce, along with their three young daughters, are grieving the loss of their cherished pet dog.
“When I informed the girls that Baloo was going to leave us, Ellie asked where he was headed,” Kylie, 32, shared via Instagram on Saturday, March 22. “I told her he was going to heaven, and without hesitation, she responded, ‘Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so thrilled to reunite!’”
Jason, 37, and Kylie have been married since 2018 and are the proud parents of daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 2, with another child on the way. The Kelces’ other dog, Winnie, passed away last year.
“We were fortunate to have 7 years with the goofiest, sweetest, most lovable, and tolerant dog I’ve ever known,” Kylie reflected on Saturday. “He craved nothing more than carbs and affection. He was a simple soul, held together by bubble gum and paper clips.”
She added, “The heartbreak is overwhelming, but as Ellie so beautifully articulated, the reunion of Winnie and Bubba must be pure magic. We miss you already, Bubbies.”
Both of their Irish Wolfhounds were adopted before Wyatt’s arrival. During a February guest spot on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Kylie humorously mentioned that her firstborn viewed Winnie as more of an older sibling.
“We were discussing my current pregnancy, and she remarked, ‘Well, you had a baby before me,’” Kylie recounted to podcaster Alex Cooper. “I was taken aback, and she continued, ‘Winnie,’ because I’ve referred to Winnie as my firstborn child so often that my oldest daughter believes I carried the Irish Wolfhound in my belly.”
Kylie announced Winnie’s passing via Instagram in March 2024.
“In high school, I had a folder on my desktop named ‘God’s gift to earth’ filled with images of Irish Wolfhounds I had collected from Google. I fell in love with the breed at a young age, and my fascination never faded,” Kylie noted on Instagram back then. “This passion led me to Winnie, and she truly exceeded all my expectations.”
She concluded, “I lost a piece of my soul today, but I find comfort in knowing she is at peace. I love you, Winn. You will forever be my firstborn child.”
While Jason has chosen not to publicly discuss the deaths of either dog, he has often mentioned them on his and brother Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast over the years.
“Oh, man, the dogs are going wild,” he stated during a September 2024 episode when Baloo’s barking interrupted the recording. “That must mean Ky is back with the kids.”
He then called out to the dog directly, “Baloo! Bubba! Come on.”
