Lala Kent Acknowledges Her Role in Kristen Doute Feud Following Their Reconnection
Lala Kent has finally put an end to one of many feuds with her former Vanderpump Rules castmates.
On the Wednesday, May 7, episode of the “Give Them Lala” podcast, Lala, 34, shared how a baby shower for a mutual friend rekindled her relationship with Kristen Doute.
“You know the ups and downs I’ve had with Kristen, who is also close with Meredith,” Lala mentioned. “We haven’t really interacted much. We’ve talked about each other — but it hasn’t been good. During [Kristen’s] pregnancy, I reached out a lot but didn’t get a response, which was totally fine.”
It was only when Kristen, 42, finally replied that they could confront their issues.
“She started to warm up, and I was getting replies. The day before the shower, I received a message from her,” Lala reminisced. “She was unsure about attending because she didn’t know if it was suitable for her to come into my home considering our history — but she genuinely wanted to support Meredith.”
For fans who may need a reminder, the feud between Lala and Kristen began in November 2023. Lala had severed ties with Kristen after accusing her of lacking support at a live podcast taping where Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi made comments about Lala’s strained co-parenting situation with ex Randall Emmett.
“We had a fallout. She stopped talking to me,” Kristen reflected on the “Viall Files” podcast in June 2024. “I found out from Brittany [Cartwright] that Lala considers me dead to her because of this. I tried reaching out, but we never spoke.”
At that time, Kristen made it clear she held no regrets, stating, “I don’t need that in my life. I feel like friendships with Lala come with so many conditions. It’s very conditional; if you do this, then you’re on her good side.”
Lala, on the other hand, acknowledged her role in the drama.
“I sent her a long text. I genuinely feel that our fallout was mainly my fault,” Lala expressed on Wednesday. “You have to remember I was under the influence of my hormones. My emotions were running high.”
Lala shared that her IUI journey added to her emotional struggles.
“It was an internal battle. Also, at that time, I was dealing with the fallout from a very challenging season,” she said, referencing the revamped Vanderpump Rules. “I cut people out, thinking it was my way of protecting myself.”
Lala and Kristen have since made strides towards reconciliation.
“I sent her a message. Her reply was, ‘You’ve got me very emotional.’ I decided to leave it as is. I said, ‘But I want you to feel comfortable. If you’re not ready, I completely respect that,’” she continued. “She showed up, and we refollowed each other on Instagram. That’s when you know things are back on track.”
Reconnecting with Kristen has been very significant for Lala, who remarked, “I feel really, really happy about us rekindling our friendship. I know it’ll be a gradual process. [But] I’m glad we could make amends before she gives birth. I missed out on much of Scheana [Shay]’s pregnancy because of our feud. I can’t help but feel I’m the common factor in these situations.”
