Leonardo DiCaprio forgoes Met Gala Red Carpet with Vittoria Ceretti

Leonardo DiCaprio successfully evaded the red carpet during his Met Gala debut with girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti.

A photographer from Vogue captured DiCaprio, 50, at Monday’s event at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, accompanied by Ceretti, 26. The actor, who avoided the limelight, shielded his face from the camera. Vogue released the black-and-white image on May 7, just two days following the spectacle organized by the fashion magazine and its editor Anna Wintour.

Ceretti ascended the museum steps solo. The supermodel donned a sleek dark blue pinstripe minidress with an elongated train, complemented by an exquisite diamond necklace. In contrast, DiCaprio sported a traditional tuxedo during the event.

DiCaprio and Ceretti have been romantically linked since the summer of 2023. Earlier in April, Ceretti provided rare insights into their relationship in an April feature for Vogue France, where she discussed her bond with the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star, whom the magazine described as a “very, very famous actor.” However, she preferred to keep details to a minimum.

“Once you begin dating someone more widely recognized than yourself, you’re seen as ‘the girlfriend of’ — or ‘the boyfriend of,’” she explained. “That can become quite frustrating.”

She continued, “Suddenly, you’re identified as the girlfriend of someone who was previously linked to someone else. It’s unpleasant to think that you can’t love whomever you choose due to the labels people impose.”

As Ceretti noted, dating a celebrity is “a learning experience. If what you have is genuine, and you’re sure of your love for each other, then there’s no cause for concern,” she emphasized. “Because love shields and nurtures confidence.”

The couple was first spotted together in August 2023, enjoying themselves at a club in Ibiza, Spain, and later indulging in ice cream in California. A few months later, Us Weekly confirmed that they were “exclusive.”

“Vittoria is his primary focus,” an insider revealed to Us in November 2023, adding that DiCaprio is “utterly taken” with Ceretti.

Later that month, she was seen at DiCaprio’s star-studded birthday celebration. People reported that the couple was “affectionate and kissing throughout the evening.” They celebrated his significant birthday last fall.

“They share a great deal of respect for one another,” another source shared with Us regarding Ceretti and DiCaprio’s relationship at that time. “Both are frequent travelers for work and support each other’s careers immensely.”

Most recently, the couple was seen playing pickleball with friends on the beach in December 2024.
