Lily Allen Stuns in an Underboob-Baring Top on the CFDA Red Carpet

Lily Allen is embracing her fashion-forward phase.

At 40, Allen made an appearance at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards held at The American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Monday, November 3, shortly after the launch of her highly-anticipated album West End Girl, which seems to allude to her recent separation from estranged husband David Harbour.

The British singer showcased her style in a daring outfit by Colleen Allen, who was nominated for emerging designer of the year. Lily’s striking all-white, lingerie-inspired attire—a flowing skirt paired with a bra that revealed her underboob—turned heads. She removed a lengthy blouse for pictures, exposing the sheer lace detailing on the back of her skirt that accentuated her legs.

Keeping her accessories understated, Lily opted for neutral makeup, chic heels, and delicate gold hoop earrings. Her dark locks were styled in a sleek updo, highlighting her signature bangs.

During an interview with The Cut on the white carpet, Lily described her ensemble as “sick” and “fun, classic — this is everything.”

Following the release of West End Girl in October, Lily has received an outpouring of positive feedback. She recorded the album within just 10 days in December 2024, coinciding with her breakup from Harbour, 50, after four years of marriage.

“It’s not a cruel album,” Lily shared with Interview magazine last month. “I don’t feel like I’m being mean. It was just the feelings I was processing at the time.”

She added, “I feel very differently about the whole situation now. We all go through breakups, and it’s always f***ing brutal. But I don’t think it’s that often that you feel inclined to write about it while you’re in it.”

Lily Allen and David Harbour are listing their New York City home following the release of her breakup album, West End Girl. They have put their historic Brooklyn townhouse on the market through Carl Gambino of Compass for $7,995,000. The four-story residence boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Allen, 40, and Harbour, who parted ways in 2024, purchased the […]

Lily addressed speculation about her creating a “revenge album,” particularly given lyrics that seem to discuss an unfaithful partner, firmly stating, “I don’t need revenge.”

She explained her intention was to “really try to process things, and that’s great in terms of the album, but I don’t feel confused or angry now.”

West End Girl marks Lily’s first album since her 2018 release, No Shame. In the seven years since, the London native relocated to New York City with the Stranger Things actor, and they bought a brownstone in Brooklyn (which starred in a viral Architectural Digest tour), now on the market for nearly $8 million.

In the new album, Lily expresses her feelings upon discovering a text from “Madeline” on her partner’s phone, leading to a confrontation.

“How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?” she questions in a song named after the other woman.

Harbour, for his part, also seems to be moving on. In an interview with Esquire UK published on November 1, he expressed hopes that his next 50 years would be filled with “more stories that are complex and rich.”

He further shared, “Then, of course, there’s personal stuff that I want to do, and people that I want to love, and be good to and nurture, things like that.”
