Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin Celebrate Their Daughter’s 13th Birthday in Paris
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin have mixed feelings about their daughter Amelia Gray’s 13th birthday party.
“When we first went to Paris with the kids, Amelia was 13 and she wanted to celebrate her 13th birthday where?” Rinna, 61, asked her husband, 73, on the Friday, February 28 episode of their “Let’s Not Talk About the Husband” podcast. Hamlin then shared that Amelia had her heart set on celebrating at Le Jules Verne, the renowned restaurant located in the Eiffel Tower, which was then run by chef Alain Ducasse.
Hamlin reminisced that Amelia, now 23, was “like a stinger missile” when it came to persuading her parents to put together her dream party.
“Whatever she wants, she gets, by the way,” Hamlin explained. “That’s why Amelia Gray is a supermodel because she always gets what she desires when she sets her mind to it. It just happens.”
Rinna and Hamlin — who also have a 26-year-old daughter Delilah Belle — ultimately agreed to “master manifester” Amelia’s birthday wish.
“She desperately wanted to dine at the Alain Ducasse restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. It was all she went on about,” Hamlin mentioned. “We finally secured a reservation for sunset, and it was absolutely stunning.”
However, despite the breathtaking views, the family was taken aback to find the menu limited to “pigeon and escargot.”
“She looked at the menu and exclaimed, ‘But where are the chicken tenders? Where’s the hamburger? Where’s the mac and cheese?’” Hamlin recalled of his daughter. “In the end, she didn’t eat anything. The menu was prix fixe, and the bill came to a couple thousand dollars — and I was the only one who had a meal. I enjoyed the escargot, the pigeon, and everything else. I have a refined palate; I appreciate fine dining, whereas they prefer chicken fingers and fries.”
According to Rinna, she and Amelia resorted to eating only the bread that came with the gourmet dishes during the birthday celebration.
Hamlin did mention that the couple’s children — he also has an eldest son Dimitri from a previous relationship — are now more open to trying different cuisines as adults.
“Their taste has matured,” Hamlin said. “They are now more refined in their choices compared to our first trip to Paris. They are more adventurous and are even trying oysters now.”
Rinna, however, continues to follow a selective diet.
“I dislike oysters and caviar,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum stated in the podcast episode. “Everyone adores me because I share my caviar. I’ve never tasted caviar. … My friends cherish my presence when caviar is served because they get to enjoy it. On that show I was on, Housewives, serving caviar was quite the trend. No thanks.”
